Product Description
Stanley Kubrick: The Masterpiece Collection includes eight Kubrick classics as well as the newly-produced documentary: Kubrick Remembered which captures intimate moments in Stanley Kubrick's very personal life, two new-to-Blu-ray documentaries: Stanley Kubrick In Focus and Once Upon a Time...' A Clockwork Orange' plus three additional documentaries: Stanley Kubrick: A Life in Pictures, and O' Lucky Malcolm! Also included will be a new 78-page hardcover photo book using never-before-seen archival photos, production materials and more.

Lolita (1962)
A divorced British professor becomes infatutuated with a flirtatious 14-year-old girl after moving to a small-town America.

Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964)
A psychotic Air Force General unleashes an ingenious and irrevocable scheme to send bombers to attach Russia whilst the President and Soviet premier frantically try to save the world.

2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)
Kubrick's dazzling Academy Award-winning achievement (Special Visual Effects) is an allegorical puzzle on the evolution of man and a compelling drama of man vs. machine.

A Clockwork Orange (1971)
In future Britain, the singing, tap-dancing, derby-topped hooligan Alex has a "good time" - at the tragic expense of others. His journey from amoral punk to brainwashed proper citizen and back again forms the dynamic arc of Kubrick's future-shock vision of Anthony Burgess' novel.

Barry Lyndon (1975)
Redmond Barry is a young, roguish Irishman who dupes, duels and seduces his way up the social ladder, entering into a lustful but loveless marriage to a wealthy countess named Lady Lyndon and assuming wealth and power beyond his wildest dreams.

The Shining (1980)
The Shining is Kubrick's epic tale of a man who journeys to the elegant, isolated Overlook Hotel as an off-season caretaker with his wife and son, and ultimately descends into murderous delusions.

Full Metal Jacket (1987)
A superb ensemble falls in for Kubrick's brilliant saga about the Vietnam War and the dehumanizing process that turns people into trained killers.

Eyes Wide Shut (1999)
Tom Cruise plays a doctor who plunges into an erotic foray that threatens his marriage - and may ensnare him in a murder mystery - after his wife's (Nicole Kidman) admission of sexual longings in Kubrick's daring and controversial last film.

Yeah i saw it went on offer the other day on Amazon for £39.99 and that was a good price, as i mentioned it is usually round £60. It's on back order for stock there though. £39.99 was lowest this set had ever been till now
Not so sure about some of the films but a clear HD image of Nicole Kidman's backside is gotta be worth summat.
Thanks. Just ordered. Been waiting for a price drop on this one. Just didn't expect it to drop this low. Excellent. .
Full Metal Jacket up there in my Top 10 and number 1 war film narrowly beating platoon and Apolcalypse now.
And 2001 without the annoying monkey bit at the beginning is without doubt the most ground breaking syfi film
ever made which many of the Greats owe a lot in terms of technical aspects of making space travel look real.

'2001 without the annoying monkey bit at the beginning', I think you mean the dawn of man, the foundation of the entire movie maybe the most important and poignant part of the film, but each to their own I suppose.

Good deal, have purchased, despite not owning a DVD player, thats next on the list!

Personally I'd rather pay the extra £6 and get the UK version. Good price however if you aren't bothered by German text on the box art.

Yes the book is in English, just the box-art (writing on outside of box) isn't.

“My god, it’s full of stars”
Anyone know if it's the longer US version of the shining?
Also are these films cropped 16:9 too?

I feel your pain too, 2001 is all about that monkey! Also read on a review from Amazon that its famous “My god, it’s full of stars” has been cut! say what!?!

I get the symbolism I just can't stand the horrific music that accompanies the scenes if your watching through a decent amplifier in 5.1 Surround its like the Orchestra is inside your head and I feel most of it should have ended up on the cutting room floor. It could be compressed to 1 minute and still get the symbolism and gist of what Kubrick was trying to get across. The moment the bone (weapon) gets tossed into the air and turns into the spaceship I breath a sigh of relief and start to enjoy the film. From that point on its epic.
great in 7.1

The line "My god, it’s full of stars” was never in 2001, but the sequel, 2010.
