I agree, its very easy to see the supposed original price and the excellent saving you are making and just order because you think its a bargain. I'm a real sucker for buying tools but I won't be buying this.

Stan;ey gear is usually well over priced but not THAT over priced.

You can often get the same from Lidl for about £10 or even less.

Fine if you have no tools whatsoever and you like brand names.

You must be a bit of a tool (:whistling:) to pay full whack for this but if you do actually need the items contained in this kit, then it's a pretty hot deal (imo)..........at a push.

Yes the original price is way over the top.....I expected to see about a dozen tools for that price.

However it's still a reasonable price at £17.99

you can pick up empty toolbox from Lidl. for 4.99, Screw driver set for 2.99. Pick a hammer from Wilko or screwfix for 1.99. job done all for 10.00 pounds...

The 19" tool box is a tenner at Wilkinsons and was on offer for £8 a while back. It's about worth the £18, but not much more.

For a couple of quid more you would be better buying the following: -

]Nice Full Toolbox for £19.99

Full of tools and slightly brighter in colour so you dont lose it at the back of the garage

Is that a selection of hair grips on the top tray? :whistling:

Love Stanley tools - always work out cheaper than buying other cheaper tools .... but this looks very pricey for such few tools, so not hot, nor cold; just a rock-solid lukewarm !

Probably better value to go for … Probably better value to go for this:http://www.amazon.co.uk/Draper-89944-180PC-Value-Home/dp/B000PJC7GQ/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=diy&qid=1225309306&sr=1-2

that is pretty good value.

...But why did they brand everything with the word "value" printed on?? They might as well have just printed "cheap" on everything. No one wants their tools to say "value" on them. I want my tools to say "expert" or "master" or "pro grade" on them, even if they're not.

:?

Just picked up one of these from Thorntons (fudge packing dept), down Wardour St way. I'm tickled pink with it.

if you want draper stuff, go to asda...they have the value stuff which is ok for basic jobs and dead cheap too

My dad had some tools made from Stanley and Draper this was over almost 30 years ago now, still got them. Quality tools back then, unfortunately they just do not have the same build quality anymore.

I personally stay away from them and stick to Bahco, CK, Rothenberger, etc... a bit more expensive but quality. I do have some Draper expert VDE scredrivers though which are excellent.

i know, goes against the marketing principle of branding

Can't believe how hot this has become, come on people, it was never worth £62 and is really not that great a deal.
