Stansted Expres Return (Liverpool St - Stansted Airport) cheapest I could find - save £5.30!

Hi there!
For all travellers I think that is a quite good deal! If you have to get from London to stansted airport quickly Stansted Express is a good solution, the problem as always is price - they're charging on their website for a ticket from Liverpool Street Station £18 SINGLE/£26.80 RETURN tickets. But through the ryanair link you can get same tickets for £15 SINGLE/£21.50 RETURN.
Doesn't take long to calculate that you can save £3 or £5.30 depends on ticket!!
I think quite good deal and hope that some of you will take advantage of it!
Good luck and safe trip!

Can get it for 9.45 single, but its a bit tricky.........
Only works in advance on a specified date, the earlier the better.

Go to www.fgw.co.uk search for a single from Swindon to Stansted Airport on the date you need, specify the time as 9.00am.

You'll be shown a few times of trains, click to go through to the pricing page.

Keep clicking "later trains" until you get a nice cheap fare.

The ticket you get will only be valid on the specified train from Swindon to London - but that doesn't matter - you won't be using it.

The London - Stansted train however cannot be reserved, so you can use it any time on the date specified.

I had a quick look on the 3rd of November and found a single for 9.45GBP

This should work in reverse as well

OP, I suggest you use UK convention of "." for decimal point rather than "," - risk of being misunderstood on here.

good to know...

thanks! I've changed it!

don't you have to add a flight confirmation code to book it through ryanair?

Can anyone confirm this works? I need to book a ticket to Stansted & this seems the cheapest way at £10.50 from Swindon to Stansted.

Code still working, but prices have gone up! Standard return now being quoted at £28 through the booking link above, special offer at £24...

Tip: You can take the Terravision bus from Liverpool Street station for £14 return. Only takes 55 minutes, so about the same time. Not as comfy, but almost half the price.

Hi,
Was just looking at all the v. helpful comments and tips...
I would like to travel from Stansted Airport to Tottenham Hale (one-way only) using the Stansted Express train service in april 2012..
I'd appreciate everyone's help with the following 2 questions:
Question No. 1: I see that it is cheaper to book a one-way ticket through Ryanair's website from Stansted Airport to Liverpool street at 18 GBP, than buying the single fare to Tottenhal hale (19GBP). The question is: Can i buy the reduced fare to Liverpool Street and get off at Tottenham Hale instead (i.e. before Liverpool street)? My question is related to the existence or absence of ticket control at Tottenham Hale station, i.e. on top of the obvious ticket control within the Stansted express train is there ADDITIONAL ticket-control at tottenham Lahe station? For example, is there an electronic-scanning-machine after exiting the train at Tottenham Hale which would "read" that my ticket is valid to Liverpool Street and hence not allow me to pass through the exit-doors at Tottenham Hale station?
Question No. 2: Following Robin's (wobinb) very useful tip, i went to fgw.co.uk and saw that it is possible to book a single ticket from Stansted Airport all the way to Swindon (via Liverpool street and Paddingtom) for only 10,50 GBP. The question is: Can i buy this ticket and get off/end my journey at Tottenham Hale? (instead of getting off at Liverpool street)?
Thanks in advance for your assistance.
Stav

Good to see people are still using the tip!

As of today 10/03/2013, the cheapest fare seems to be £10.50 from Swindon.

I'm not sure if it would work from Tottenham Hale - The ticket terms state that you cannot break the journey at any intermediate station, however I imagine you could get away with it, especially if there was engineering work going on.
