Stansted to Kuala Lumpur from return £248 @ Air Asia

Found 23rd Jun 2009Made hot 24th Jun 2009
Air Asia have just changed their flight costing as I have been watching for agesssss.

£22 baggae medium extra

I needed a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Bali and patience has paid off and i have got 4 return flight for just over £200 and it was £350 yesterday.

I have already booked the Stansted one and paid well over this price in April.

Fantastic price this one as the previous post for one way at £149 was not available for both return and depart.

Just pick dates from November onwards and find the cheap ones , there are loads available

hi op, do u have any idea whats the normal price for return flight of LHR-KUL or MAN-KUL? Thanks

Great price, but can't find any good prices for July/August...peak season eh?

im my opinion the singapore airline deal is a much better deal. Good find though.

They have a strict swine flu containment policy and you could be quarantined for a week if you come from certain countries (UK included).

Not that you'd want to go during October but i was just playing around with dates and you can get a return flight even cheaper!!

Would this have anything to do with a UK and a Aussie bringing the first case into the island at all.
I think that's more than reasonable that I should be quarantined if I have Avian Flu. Or maybe they should just say " go on you cheeky virus carriers go on and enjoy yourself".

If this is per person then its £998.
2 flights to kuala lumpur return £554
2 go holidays air asia £280 approx ( holiday inn Penang ) with Breakfast !
total cost £834
This is just a quick look at deals, maybe better ones.

Like many other airlines who flew out of Luton and Stansted to longhaul destinations in recent years, and now rest in that big airline graveyard in the sky, Air Asia will probably at some point join them, so I would much sooner book the Singapore Airlines deal. Great price though if they are still flying in October!

RIP Maxjet, EOS Airlines, Silverjet......:whistling:

There are also the success stories like Ryanair. AirAsia has a good business model and I would bet a months wages on it being around in 12 months time. In any case, I always pay air tickets with credit card, even if it cost extra, for the assurance.

I love the way you class Air Asia in with that lot.
No Airline is safe in this day and age but I think British Airways will go down before Air Asia and if you look at the accounts of Air Asia vs Singapore Air then i think Singapore is going down long before either of them.

Has anyone flown Air Asia X on the London route. How is it for comfort?

anyway to check by price rather than by date?

Go to Skyscanner
put in london stansted
put in kuala lumpur
choose a month
click on calender
tick whole month ( or whole year )
you will get bar graph with prices when you hover.

Hope that helps

The website is awful - I am trying to book a flight and I keep getting an error message every time I submit the page. Bit pathetic really!

Will keep trying. Thanks OP for posting the deal.

I'll come knocking in about 5 months time asking for your December pay packet then! Oasis Hong Kong airlines also had a good business model as well apparantly, so did Swissair, so did Sabena and so did The Worlds Favourite when I bought their shares at 668p in 1995!! The joys of international air travel. Incidentally my parents are still awaiting their XL Airways refund from the administrators/ABTA....

That's a really good deal..

However please bear in mind that passenger flying from UK to Malaysia will need to quarantine for 7 days due to swine flu case.

I would change that to a "may".

miarcerts,
Refer back to post #7 of this thread. Returning students will be quarantined, but I dont see the difference between them and tourists if they are all coming from the same place. So exercise caution in case this policy eventually extend to non-students as well.

Okay
1. That report seems to be from the star online.
2. Forget saying maybe the post should be changed from "will" to "may" delete it now I say.
3. "so exercise caution ...." I think you are not just playing devils advocate here, you are taking things to the nth level.
Swine Flu is "Pandemic" and as such you may as well copy and paste "may do" into every travel post here including the UK ones.

The FACTS are

Malaysia has asked its students this.

"Students returning for holidays from the United States, United Kingdom, Australia and the Philippines must quarantine themselves at home for seven days.

Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Ismail Merican said most imported cases of the Influenza A (H1N1) reported in the country involved people who returned from these countries".

Malaysia depends a lot like so many other countries on tourism, so people saying things that are just ridiculous like...

" However please bear in mind that passenger flying from UK to Malaysia will need to quarantine for 7 days due to swine flu case"

is just not good for anyone least of all this forum.

I am going 09th to 24th November so the weather better be good, esp in Bali where I am off to from KL.

yeah thanks miarcerts for the post - I was reading reviews on AA , but you can get around them , especially the delays that people experience - im going on to langkawi and BK , but Im going to leave connecting flights with a large window of time , to allowfor any delays , buying snacks before you board (stanstead has boots , pret , whsmith)- and dont listen to those who say you cant bring it on - if you put it in handluggage they don't care-
thanks ever so much for posting - hope u have a great holiday -

Hot Deal

Although the Singapore Airlines deal was fantastic there was low availability for the last week or so. I managed to get flights with Air Asia to KL for £280ish return, including the meal / lugage fees.

Offer has now been extended until 5th July.

My only concern is the current use of a single plane from STN-KUL. Doesn't leave much room in the schedules if they are delayed or maintenance is needed

Thanks to the OP - heat and rep added - booked a hol for a good price in Oct. Going to KL for a few days, then off to Penang for a few more days. Missed the Singapore airlines deal, so compared to average flight cost with other carriers (around £500), then it looks a good deal (with luggage, check in and meals, came in at just under £300).

Cheers again.

Thanks.
