That was priority boarding. Airports don't offer that it's the airlines who do. Next time you're at the airport and about to enter security look out for fast track. You usually pay about 5 quid for it. It's kinda like fast track in theme parks. You skip the queue and everyone who's been waiting there for ages hates you ;)
We went to Marrakech a couple of months ago with Ryan air and fast track was going through the lane on the left to board first
prior to changes in luggage, people wanted to board asap so they can have the carry-on's with them on the plane instead of checking them into the hold and having to wait at the destination for the bags.
FastTrack is for skipping the queues at airport's security. It's got nothing to do with priority or speedy boarding.
I don't understand why anyone would want to be on the plane first?! So you can sit in an uncomfortable seat with no leg room whilst all the other passengers board, then the entirety of the flight! I pride myself in being last on everytime!
