Couldn't have put it better myself! Hot!!
Just remember that the version of ST6 in this set is the theatrical version, not the superior extended cut. As far as I know the extended version hasn't been released on bluray, it was on Amazon Prime Video in 1080p though
Heat added.

Almost temped if only for some of the bits in IV;

Like Chekov asking the San Francisco cop directions to the nuclear wessels.
Scotty declaring a Windows P.C. quaint as he picks up the mouse and speaks a command into it.

Oh how we larfed.

"Admiral! There be WHALES here!" Pure joy.
Voted hot.
While No.1 and No.6 are the theatrical cuts, this is still a very good price.

Still need to see the first movie's "Director's Edition" on bluray though. That's what you get for rendering the new CGI effects in SD resolution for the DVD.

I personally prefer the theatrical cut. The scooby doo ending felt cringeworthy to me, and unnecessary.
Thanks for posting @jimel we have added this to today's Highlights

I hate to be that guy but it was an Apple Macintosh.
Heat because it's ST.
'1 is a pretentious drag'. Don't agree it's pure sci-fi and although humourless, faithful to the premise of the original series. 2 is brilliant (the best), 3 & 4 very good. 5 and 6 no thank you.

Everyone's just so worn out and frustrated and bored in the motion picture. I'm so glad they rebooted it with Khan.

It's an acquired taste like Romulan Ale I suppose.

The Chekov nuclear wessels lines were filmed with real responses from unsuspecting members of the public, including the reaction of the bemused traffic cop.

2, 4, 6 are great. 1, 3, 5 not so great.
I loved one. And the music, pure cinema.

I did not know that and my world is now more complete with the knowledge. Thank you.

Nimoy had a deft touch in anything Sci-Fi. "You'll have to excuse my friend. He did a little too much LDS in the 60's" is a line I have been known to drop at the most inappropriate times.

Mr. Shatner's attempt was more accurately described as "Cack Handed" than deft. I might make a four lettered scatological pun from the actor's surname; if I were not on an internet profanity detox at the moment.

Regards,
Ian
I've been wanting to watch this for ages, thanks a lot op

You've not experienced #6 until you've seen it in the original Klingon.
The films are enjoyable, but unfortunately every release uses the same discs which have pretty mediocre picture quality. Only 'Wrath of Khan' has a good video transfer, and its the only film which is available (seperately) in its Director's cut. It also got a new restoration for that release.

Of the 4 Next Generation films (not included in this set), the final one 'Nemesis' (with Tom Hardy) has a great transfer. But the other 3 films, including arguably TNGs best film 'First Contact', they also have pretty mediocre picture quality.

Yeah it's odd cos the new Trek movies have some of the best 1080p and 4k transfers.
First Contact is the best movie

First Contact is the best movie

I would say it has the best opening: the flashback double nightmare, the frustration and torment of lingering along the Beta border, the sinister Borg message followed by the deaths of hundreds, Picard and crews FU to orders, the crumbling Defiant and fearless Worf, the last minute save, the battle and the whispers that lead to one victory but then a total defeat. The minute we plunge through time it turns into a Die Hard in space: fun but not consistent in tone. However the skill and charisma onscreen carriest it through.

Wrath of Khan though, just builds and builds. It's got so many layers yet is simplistic in its approach. Small budget but big aspirations (and pecs). A timeless evocative score. Groundbreaking effects (Star Wars was more kinetic but never had such stunning scenery as the broiling depths of the Mutara Nebula). Characters that remained consistent with the original show yet seemed even more grounded and authentic and flawed. Love and commitment and fury and betrayal, all set against world killing tech in a distant pocket of space. So good.
