Best price I have seen for this game. If someone is a fan or likes online FPS it's a grab. Be aware there is a lot of controversies around the game because of the loot box system in the online portion of the game...

Just remember that this is base price. As someone who stupidly got this game I can confirm you're buying a shell of a game. It looks amazing, but so do casinos... And that's what this is.

This is a brave deal to post...

Deal is a deal even if the game is just ok. People don't understand it. It's like -40% so it is a great deal.

If glue that didn't stick was sold for £50 then reduced to £30, great deal? Deal 'greatness' is judged on intrinsic value and thanks to EA's business model the intrinsic vale of BF2 is.... well, not a lot imho, about as much as the aforementioned glue.

With the amount of backlash this game is receiving, I would wait another month or two till it really drops in price

Still to expensive for me but the best price so far. It should be < £30 before Christmas though I imagine.

EA want MT in a game at this level it should be f2p brave op brave

Cold, no "sense of achievement" in paying this price for it.

Who has ever bought an EA game at base price on Origin? I hope nobody!

I have, origin 'on the house' titles

Interesting the price is starting to drop. Good news it's my last present still outstanding and I refuse to pay more than £30

I was going to sell my key but at the end of the day EA still got their sale from me unfortunately so I redeemed it. (Purchased for 27 quid back on May 4th from CDKEYS)

I've only played the scenarios and main story but it actually isn't a terrible game, I'd say i've had 27 quids worth. I think EA as a company are abhorrent and can't recommend anyone purchase this on that basis. Until these companies take note they are going to keep jamming micro transactions at gamers, and we need it to stop.

What’s wrong with this game? I’ve bought it for my son for Christmas for £70. Should I be sending it back to Amazon? It’s still sealed.

Google it. You'll see. I wouldn't buy this for a child... These types of games should be restricted from children. Google Battlefront 2 lootboxes

I’m in at £24.99 for the very short SP campaign other than that no deal.

Davidg - just make sure you hide your wallet when he starts paying I mean playing, I think someone worked out £1000 to get the achievements bought in gambling chests of nothingness.

The game costs 70 quid but the way EA has created it you will have to spend a lot more to actually enjoy it.

If your son wants to play with one of the main heros then be prepared to pay a lot more for loot boxes, that's the problem with it.

Send it back!

I wouldn't ever buy this game for anyone under 18, google the reasons

This game is modeled entirely around free to play games, it takes literally 9 months of real time to unlock the full game experience or somewhere around $4000-5000 in micro transactions, which have been temporarily disabled but were promised to return later. It's a shell, it's a scam, it's a ruse, it's a sham, the game has no value, don't bother paying for it unless they ever fix it, which now it seems they have dug their hole too deep to do.
This game has gone so far as to damage EA's stock significantly and set records in negative social media.

If you want a real game experience for a starwars title called battlefront 2, look up the 2005 version on steam, the servers still run and all things considered it's a more complete game that this pay per piece jigsaw puzzle of microtransactions.

You could post this title up for £1 and it'd probably go cold. EA have proven for the second time just how scummy and deceptive they are. Here's to hoping that Disney give the license to a publisher with a little more humanity ASAP! What a waste of a beautiful looking game.

Guys you are out of date. Disney has made EA switch of the loot box’s and they have also under their own steam have reduced the in game credits to buy characters. You don’t need to spend a penny on loot boxes anymore. On the other hand anyone wanting this wait another week. Two years ago the first battlefront was released at the same time and when the force awakens was released in cinemas there was a big price drop on the game to coincide with the movies release. Hold out for another 8 days!

Send this rubbish back while you still can. It's basically a slot machine hiding behind pretty star wars visuals. They have been removed temporarily (Because Micky mouse told off EA personally) Leaving a painful grind behind. But the loot boxes will be back once the incredible negative reception dies down.

9 months of gameplay for £33 is starting to look like a bargain

It doesn't matter if this game was £9.99. I want people to boycott this game to put an end to "greed-before-gameplay" style games being published these days.

I really dislike EA as a business and therefore will refuse to purchase or play their games until they trim the fat from their board of directors.

FIFA, Titanfall 2, Battlefield, they've all been sub par in their last few releases and it's clear EA's focus for any of its new developments is "where can we shoe horn microtransactions in here" before worrying about how good the gameplay is for the player.

Indeed they are shut off 'for now' while they 'look at the data' - ie until people have bought enough units and then they'll switch it back on.
Not even worth a fiver, story line in the single player part is hilariously awful.
Which is a shame, as it looks fantastic.

Gameplay and forced grinding are not the same thing, it's 9 months of the same game over and over, if you do anything for 9 months without breaks you will hate it, breathing possibly being an expection

Its basically down to their shocking in house purchases (loot crates). Without them, you'll get slaughtered. To top it off, after paying for these loot crates, you get random items (most of which are useless junk).

These 2 guys on YouTube basically sum it up in their reviews:

Worth a buy:

And yet people buy the grindfest that is COD every year and seem to love it. Go figure

The real thing here is that gamers have gotten lazy. They wanted the easy route, they got it and now cant afford it. I believe the term is butt hurt? If it had been $40/$50 to unlock everything, how many complainers would there have been? So while theres no denying that EA are a bunch of money grabbing ****s, so called 'gamers' have to take a fair portion of the blame on themselves for showing the likes of EA that carving games up into DLC and microtransactions is worth it. Don't even get me started on Shark Cards........

Two GOOD things EA have done....

1. Gave away the season pass to SW Battlefront.
2. Made Ubisoft look fairly reasonable in comparison

Oh and.....

Ghost Recon Wildlands Gold Edition (ie the FULL game) also £32.99 on cdkeys. That's where my money went

How old is your son? I'd say send it back but some of the alternatives this game that you could get are rated either 16 or 18 (Assassins Creed Origins, Destiny 2, Battlefield 1 Revolution, Horizon Zero Dawn, etc). I'm struggling to think of an action game for a slightly younger teenager, I suppose if you had to go for something and you were comfortable with the 16 rating of Battlefront 2 then I suppose Destiny 2 is the best alternative.

Not looking like a top deal this one !

Because Disney is such an ethical company right? /s

Just check their mobile games. The amount of lootbox pay to win stuff will make you blush.

Might get this when it hits 25, maybe .I'm more of a bf1 player, but this as a casual game still looks fun. Enjoyed the beta...

In the very announcement when EA said they were switching off loot boxes they also said they fully intend to bring them back.
