Take on brand new adventures in the Star Wars universe with Star Wars Battlefront 2.

Whether you choose to fight against the forces of evil or embrace the dark side, you can join up to 40 other players online in massive multiplayer fights. Explore iconic locations from all three eras of the franchise as you customise and upgrade your character. You can also fight as legendary characters such as Kylo Ren, Darth Maul or Han Solo to help your side to victory.

Ride tauntauns, race speeders and take on your enemies in space battles piloting X-wings and Imperial ships. Whether you choose to fight alone or using split-screen co-op, you'll be able to earn rewards which can aid you on the battlefield.

In addition to the established online multiplayer mode, there is also a single player campaign to explore as you take on the role of Iden Versio, the commander of Inferno Squad. Spanning over 30 years, the gripping story bridges events between the Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens, where Iden will encounter many of the greatest characters from the Star Wars franchise.

Yes it does
Micro trans actions are back. So don’t be fooled by the £19.99 price tag, it will actually cost you £70 to win or compete.

Heat added.

has this game got a single player option?

Yes; has a short campaign similar to battlefield/COD lengths.
Looks amazing on the xbox one x. Worth £20 just for the campaign and free single player dlc
Excellent, Thank you OP.
Cheers. That's my biting point for the single player and occasional dip into multiplayer

+1

Absolutely, I'm really loving the single player campaign on this! I'm only playing the X enhanced @ 1080p but it still looks stunning and runs exceptionally well.
I wouldn't touch this out of principal but a good price so heat added.
This game should be free
Ordered. Thanks OP

Nice! Wanted to play the single player for ages but couldn't justify the price on a few hours play. Will buy and pick up later, cheers op.

We're bored of your overused 'joke'. Take that as the definitive on here.
Totally hate the idea of micro transactions and didn't buy it myself because of this till it dropped in price. Been playing for a few weeks and have unlocked all the characters and ships. I think you can still have a good game but requires a lot of grinding. A lot of the guys who end up consistently in the top 5 seem to have lots of epic cards which certainly can be helped along with paying for crates which give crafting credits. And a good player playing as a hero with epic cards really will dominate the game. However I think a lot of it is still skill, knowing maps, altering tactics etc which money doesn't buy you. I think ea has learnt a lesson now but if they try microtransactions on another game for anything other than cosmetic stuff or maps I really would boycott them permanently

pretty sure they posted this "hilarious" joke ever time there was a deal for the last game!

tempted too give it a go at this price but mainly want it fro the singler player so don't know if its worth it

Heat
I'm very tempted as Game are paying £19 trade-in (£17.10 cash) right now (CEX: £23 / £16) and I'm keen to play the campaign.
Buy two of these and you basically get the game for a tenner

Might want to boycott them, then. Check out FIFA18 Ultimate Team, UFC3. P2W all the way over there. One of EA's head people is on record as saying that they are looking for ways to implement that sort of stuff in their games. SWBF2 is probably one of their first iterations of it. Not sure what's happening with their latest Need for Speed - apparently the loot box stuff was being changed.

Still there is this rumour about Lucasfilm dumping EA

Personally, I don't believe maps (at least multiplayer maps) should be sold via DLC, as it separates the online community. Definitely no maps should be available via loot boxes.I honestly don't think cosmetics should be available via crates either - if anything, they should just be available in an online store, you buy what you want, rather than preying on people who have addictive personalities and gambling issues. I'm on Jim Sterling's side of the fence for this one

Yes
Reserved a copy on Xbox at local store. Great price, heat added!
Good price so heat added but I won't buy / support it.

£29.99 now. Was going to pick it up on my way home from work today but I'll just wait till somewhere else has it for £20 or less
Yep also seeing £29.99 online for both formats. Expire the thread and the usual posts.
Thanks to the OP for this. I picked up the 1st game for about £10 and me and the 9yr old boy loved the split screen stuff. Wanted to get this for more split-screen variety (not bothered about the online multi stuff as I'm 46 and get battered!) so £20 seems reasonable. Managed to nab a copy last night from local PC World, so £30 for the two is more than fair.

Thanks for the info. Only really play sw or other fpshooters. Agree in particular with your last paragraph
