Star Wars Episode VIII The Last Jedi on blu ray for £12 at Morrisons when spending £40 instore on groceries

As the title states, blu ray of The Last Jedi only £12 when spending £40 or more on groceries at Morrisons. National I think. Not a great film, but a good price if you're doing your food shop anyway.
Film comes in either a Resistance or First Order sleeve.

Oh don't let the negative online reviews put you off, sad men's rights activist babies review bombed this movie everywhere because they don't like that it has women in positions of power in it. THe whinging man-babies have a problem with what they perceive as 'political correctness gone MAAD!' that the lead woman in this movie didn't strip down to a gold bikini for their viewing pleasure, so obviously it's Social Justice Warriors Ruining Everything For Them.

It's a great movie. It did huge business at the box office. It's selling shedloads of blu-rays. The whinging man-babies are a tiny minority and should be ignored.

It's all subjective.

I actually enjoyed it. I also know lots of people who enjoyed it too. Nowhere near as bad as some have said.

RoboCop 3, now that's a bad film!

Worth noting it's got 7.4 on IMDB which isn't too shabby at all; while the naysayers are vocal about their dislike for the film it's certainly not universally hated, so keep an open mind.

Nice deal. Out of interest, is it too much to hope they had a similar deal on the 3D or 4K Blu Rays? 😄

I agree it's REALLY poor in parts, but I do think it's a good deal for a week old blu ray.

Blimey, it's not that bad! There are far worse films out there from the star wars collection (Phantom menace, attack of the clones etc).

Does seem to decide opinion but I watched it twice at the cinema and loved it so personally don't get the hate for it. It's Star Wars with some humour. I'll be getting the blu-ray which I've read has near perfect video & sound.
Got it at Morrisons Friday for £12, thought it was a not bad film. I liked it.

I picked up the 3D version from Zoom for £17 but no idea why. I really disliked it but I'm a completist and I have all the other movies on Blu Ray.
Still, this is a decent price for the Blu if you are doing your shopping there.

47 on Rotten Tomatoes, the lowest of any Star Wars film I think.

I thought it was ok in parts but too many things I didn't like such as Leia in space and WTH they did to Luke...etc

I will agree with you regarding Leia in space. Would've been the perfect way to write her out of it.

Not seen it, but I've also not seen a better deal for it so heat added.

Rotten tomatoes is about as reliable as an Alfa Romeo.
Awful... just awful

Perhaps, but in this instance I tend to agree with the score.

Well its more reliable than a few random people posting on hotukdeals.

They should replace Mark Kermode with you after stellar wit like that!
Really don't understand the hate for this film

I, well all the family, enjoyed this film at the cinema. But everyone thought it was a bit patchy. I look forward to seeing it again. My favourite thing about it was how blatantly the producers pushed the "things change" theme, to the point where I was sniggering about how the Star Wars die-hards were going to get really ****** (Edit: the term I used wasn't really very sweary but the mods didn't like it) off. Reading comments in the weeks after, and now, I think they achieved their goal

There's more to the criticism than that but yeah, a lot of it is quite sad. If it isn't that it's people moaning that Luke doesn't live up to their idealised version of the character despite the theme of the movie literally about the dangers of living in the past and how we should focus on working for the betterment of the next generation.

I also love how the whiners think that the ninth highest grossing film of all time is somehow a flop lmao
Best of the new Star Wars movies. Not perfect, somewhat different, but absolutely the most thrilling and interesting.

Enjoyed Force awakens and Rogue One but hated the Last Jedi.

I agree
Good find but it's really not a good addition to the star wars franchise. Tbh thought force awakens wasn't great but this makes it look good. The comedy seemed forced imo and how do you drop bombs in space!?!

We don't watch Star Wars films for realism!

You missed it? The mega ship was so huge that it generated its own gravitational force, thus in effect attracting the bombs towards itself.

Don't think anyone is arguing it was a flop, just a lot of people saying it was crap. I love how the whiners hated the Mr Blobby song even though it went platinum.
I watched Deep Blue Sea 2 last night. Now that is a bad film despite the lead female scientist doing what Princess Leia used to do minus the chain round her neck - bikini time.

I saw Star Wars at the cinema aged 8 and loved it. Methinks it doesn’t have the same affect because of me, not it...
Absolutely fantastic movie. Ignore the negatives and give it a go; best movie since The Last Jedi.

I hated force awakens but loved this. Most movies can be picked apart for realism but I wouldn’t want to start with one where ‘The Force’ is involved lol.
I watched The Fallen Knight the other day, it's a fan edit of Last Jedi... get it if you can, as it's much better than the theatre release as it cuts all the fluff out
thefallenknight.com
Does the fallen knight edit manage to reverse Luke's complete change in character?! This film completely abandoned the style and story arc which began in Force Awakens in a bid to re-brand and refresh the Star Wars franchise. Thats why Rogue One had re-shoots and was re-cut as well as the directors being fired from the Han Solo film. Disney are ruthless- kind of like the new evil Empire Good piece in last Saturdays Guardian about this. Lots of fans didn't like it, (me), many younger fans (my kids)loved it. Oh yeah, good deal for anyone wanting to get the blu-Ray a bit cheaper!

Just to give everyone a glimpse of the change list:

  • Cut Poe joking with Hux at the beginning
  • Cut Finn/Rose side arc altogether including Maz as it served no purpose and was just fat.
  • Rose thus turns into just another Resistance member like Connix.
  • Cut Poe/Holdo “fuel” arc as it also served no purpose and felt wasteful in it’s time. This includes cutting Leia being blown into space and subsequent “Carrie Poppins” scene. Thus the last we see of the Resistance until evacuating the small ships and Holdo sacrificing herself, is after Kylo decides NOT to shot and neither do the tie fighters (in this version) This leaves Finn/Rose with the resistance for the whole movie without leaving any continuity errors. Holdo role significantly changes from admiral to close friend of Leia who sacrifices herself for the Resistance.
  • Cutting Finn/Rose arc thus of course also cut DJ/Phasma. DJ felt out of place and again not necessary, and Phasma was once again a throwaway like in TFA. This cuts the movie down quite a bit and is mostly focused on Rey/Luke and Kylo/Snoke’s story, as it should have been, with a dash of Resistance escaping at the beginning and end for the movie to still make complete sense.
  • Cut Ach-To nuns, and removed Luke saying “what is that?”
  • Cut Luke/Rey joke bout “reaching out” and slapping on the hand
  • Cut Finn meta joking about how the first order “hates that ship” in the Crait battle
  • Cut Holdo/Leia awkward joking about “may the force be with you” and just let Holdo say it.
  • Cut Finn trying to crash into the battering ram and Rose saving him. They are presumed to turn back with the other ships when Poe tells them to as Finn does not argue otherwise. This also removes him dragging Rose back.
  • Had to zoom/scale the explosion to crop Rose and Finn out when the battering ram blasts the giant door open.
  • Removed broom boi ending as it felt like an epilogue which felt out of place for the middle movie of a trilogy, and especially in a Star Wars movie.
  • Added 2 wipes (diagonal and left-to-right) where needed and a custom end “close out” circle to fit the end of the movie
