Hi, because their comment was removed due to it's nature yours went as well as it quoted their post. No worries

Exactly this ^

99% of the people on here would do the exact same if they had the chance - I know I would.

But, as for the deal, it is a great deal - Never used groupon before so hopefully I don't fail using it today

Cheers Syzable. I was hoping that was the case. I'm now sat in Starbucks in Tottenham Court Road enjoying an ok, half price coffee, feeling no guilt whatsoever!

Getti g back to the deal ..is the credit stored on your phone via the app or do you get a card in the post to use ..thanks all

Pricey but not bad if u treat them as a cybercafe.

Vikkers14 I just used it. It stays in the Groupon app on your phone and you bring it up from your purchased deals and you get a barcode that they scan in store. You then get a receipt with your remaining credit. You can probably print things out as well, but this is easy.

I forgot to thank the Op, big love, thanks xxx

can you use this on anything instore like a white cafe mocha?

Says it will be on normal site tommorroww... so TCB and Quidco will work then

Does that mean you can buy it once on the app, and again tomorrow on the normal site? If so, win.

I hope you guys complaining about tax dodgers don't live in the Thames Water area. Sure it's despicable, but you're going to get very smelly and thirsty if you boycott water. Thanks for the deal OP, I hate being ripped off for coffee so this makes it more bearable.

Morals don't stand up in court.
Laws are there for a reason.
Accountants understand the laws.
Blame the Government (not just this one - it's not a new loophole!)
Close the loophole and make 'em pay.

Unfortunately Starbucks is a franchise to the franchisees suffer.....

I doubt the recognised taxes will have any bearing on what you pay to HMRC out of your paypacket anyhow.

On my visits to other Starbucks in the South East, they have similar prices. So what planet do you live in?

Erm - he's right. Filter coffee is £1.50 for a tall, 25p off for using your own flask/mug, and if you sit in you can get free refills on it. It's the espresso based drinks that are pricier - my guess is you're getting an americano (just shy of £2 IIRC).

(I also live in London and usually pick up a filter on my way in to work....).

Ompek are you seriously expecting anyone to believe you dont use any Google product? Search, YouTube, Chrome, Android? Most websites with a map - inc AA and Royal Mail? Virgin media Email is powered by Google...

In regards to Starbucks, they, unlike Google and Amazon, admitted they were doing something "immoral" (as it is simply NOT illegal), and have paid everything they owed - and more - to make up for it. They are also one of the only companies in this country creating jobs.. And even without the tax they didnt pay, were generating a lot of money via other forms of tax for this country. Get a grip on reality and don't be so petty.

Good deal if you like Starbucks coffee an as for any one who go no about tax I take it they won't be buying any think form amazon dont uses Google or own an android phone and if they live in or near London dont uses any tap water

Check again buddy, its a standard price for filter coffee in ALL SB's across the UK. Thanks for affirming this _dash

Original Poster

Seems like everybody is having Coffee @ SB ! I can see them crowded. LoL !!

Thanks OP! I love their coffee! And how is it 'overpriced' when Costa charge the same? I personally like McDonalds coffee too.
And not everyone has facilities at home or work to make a half decent latte

Oh, learn something new everyday. You are right I get the expresso based Americano, and I thought that was the cheapest coffee there. Never noticed the filter coffee option on the board, have to look at it properly next time. Is the syrup included in the price? I ask because its seems cheap, beats my local sandwich shop, who do a expresso based coffee for £1.50.

Why is everyone going on about how expensive Starbucks is? I had one of these £5 for £10 deals from Bespoke and four medium lattes comes to £10.40????? Yes it is pricey compared to KFC or McDonalds but still not that different to Neros or Costa

ebay is a good place for vouchers btw..

I bought 50 costa shell cards for £25 making it 50p a coffee.

Well I did use the internationally approved "winky smiley face" which for all intents and purposes was to indicate it was a tongue in cheek / throw away comment. Much like when people say "I'm going to need a second mortgage to pay for that". I sincerely hope you don't take those people at face value too...

blah blah blah taxes, blah blah blah corrupt. It's getting a bit boring now, its an offer for an EFFING cup of coffee - drink & enjoy.

Life's too short to constantly moan!!

It's time the government woke up and smelt the coffee.

Transfer the credit to an existing card to avoid expiration

Naa, im not buying this. the barclay card one is still on and you don't have to use a mobile app

Just bought it. Im a little confused do you just show them the gift card on your phone?

Went for it twice. Good deal really.

I don't give two turds if Starbucks pay tax or not. If the method of not paying is legal, go for it!

Transferred to existing card no problem.

Download the free app and then use the card manager. Then in store, when asked to pay, show the barcode to the scanner.

Google, Starbucks, Amazon, Facebook and Apple were all at a dinner party, who paid the most tax? Was it Google? Was it Starbucks? Or maybe Apple they are the most profitable company in the world surely they paid the most tax?

Turns out it was neither, it was the waiter who worked for the hotel. Single handedly in his little toe he had paid more tax then all of them put together.
