Starbucks Verismo Coffee Machine £34.00 down from £104.00 at Tesco Direct

A saving of £70.00! I've never seen a Verismo priced so low so this seems like a really good deal. It makes great coffee too and it's quite neat on a worktop, doesn't take up too much space.

Anyone know of any ecoupon codes for Tesco Direct! Please!!
Very very good price but sadly the reviews are a little worrying, very tempted tho have some heat thank youxx
You cant buy a decent kettle for that ! x
I have this and find it very difficult to get the pods. Would buy something different next time
Bit like printers these coffee machines, check the cost/availability of the pods before you buy
Pod coffee is basically just fancy instant coffee (and running costs are high). If you want proper coffee, just like they make it in Starbucks and Costa, get a bean-to-cup machine instead. I've never looked back since buying mine.

Not completely true. Pod is similar to bean to cup in that the temperature and pressure is there. Bean to cup is generally cheaper as you pay for beans only not the plastic pods. Bean to cup does give more control over coffee quantity and strength though. I have both and often like the simplicity of the pod ones (can only vouch for Hotpoint Illy machines and Nespresso).

anyone in Northern Ireland thinking of buying this don't. The only real place to get pods is from Starbucks online and they have decided that Northern Ireland is no longer part of the UK and won't post to Northern Ireland anymore.

Load of rubbish. First post was spot on.

Would actually say instant is better than any pod which uses pod milk.

Incorrect. Pod coffee uses ground coffee beans, not instant.

Looks like over £3K!

Use what it likes. Add pod milk, and the taste is awfull. Avoid the pod milk, and it still tastes like instant. Nothing replicates real espresso.
If anyone's interested, Robert Dyas in Worthing, West Sussex have 2 or 3 of these reduced to £30 brand new, they are at the back of the store on the right hand side. They were there this morning.

I'd already checked the price. Some people live on another planet. £34 is the cost of this machine and someone from planet Zog suggests buying a bean to cup machine for in excess of £3500. Get real!!!!
Better off with a Tassimo really, greater choice of drinks and far less likely that they'll be entirely withdrawn from shops leaving you with a useless machine.
£3500 for a coffee maker?

How the hell do you ever come close recouping that?

Surely better off just buying from a coffee shop!

They are machines from a range for commercial use and more money than sense people.
Hey. This is the same as the TESCO podpronto machines. You can get decent pods shipped at this link shop.my-espresto.com/en shipped from Germany. Need to buy a few boxes but once you do they work out pretty reasonable.

Well a quick look on here you'll find some from £100 up.. But let's ignore that fact.
I usually drink flat white at Costa. Because everyone here is a coffee expert, can i ask if Bosch tassimo and costa tassimo pods will do for me? would that coffee taste any close to brewed coffee at costa? I am planning to use pods for espresso and milk frothed by me instead of using pod milk.

Yeah, silly me, I forgot that all the proper coffee shops use pod machines... the coffee is so much better than from freshly-ground beans. Idiot.
Coffee like wine is full of snobbery. If you enjoy what you're drinking then it's the right Coffee for you.

I would hasten to add real Coffee purists wouldn't touch a bean to cup machine. It's a proper Espresso machine all the way in their eyes, and that's after the beans have been put through a burr grinder.

Been ages since I've had a real Costa but I'm quite happy with the Tassimo Costa drinks, the T-Disc milk is fine too although I've heard they've changed it lately and isn't as good.
would have boght this only for the pods nightmare

A defo No! The tassimo pods are nothing like it. Youll buy a tassimo, and within 6 months youll have it on ebay-just look how many used ones are on there.
Nespresso if the best pod system out there if you're going to go down that route (I've tried them all!). Alternatively the Aeropress (around £20) and decent ground coffee (or grind your own beans) makes brilliant coffee.

Are you talking about tassimo? That's rubbish. Please do not mix up tassimo with Illy pod machines or nespresso pod machines. Totally different.

Compltely agree Nespresso beats all of the ones i have tried them all

I agree that any pod machine that includes dried milk ie pod latte etc tastes like a drink with powdered milk you woudl not make instant with powdered milk so why make an expenisve pod drink ?

I cant believe that somone thinks that pods are instant coffee that is just ignorant and the reason that coffee shops use beans is not that it is better but that it is cheaper. Read about how Nespresso source their coffee and you will see that it is actually a higher grade than most of the coffee shops.

Yes

Then I agree but would highly recommend trying nespresso. It's not cheap but compact, very easy to clean and maintain and has a large variety of coffee types. Of course the preference would always be bean to cup if you have the funds and space for one.
