any experienced drummers know if these are any good?

very nice. I have like 10% space left in my room and that'll be just enough to put this in it :-D

They are OK, I put a set of Remo heads and res on and bought some better cymbals. Great stuff, away to go!

theres a seller on ebay selling new kits ( from germany), generally go for £100 all in but at first glance these look better quality

The worst part of these kits is the Cymbals. Get some new cymbals and Hi-hats off Ebay and you should be fine.

The ones that come with these cheap kits are so thin that they'll dent and crack before long unless you're just going to tap away tamely at them...!

This outta keep Animal happy:-D

when i was in a band the drummer would spend this much on like one cymbal, personally if i were to want one id pay a little more and get a decent-ish 2nd hand one for like 250. The pearl export or mapex or whatever are usually quite cheap

well yeah, but if at that stage then you will be past the learning stage wont you??

these are great for the first steps

bit like a Fender Squire guitar ... you could get a nice fender start for £1000 but when you take the first few steps stick wth the £100 squire while up pick up the basics ;-)

yeah, i agree with you - all im saying is that if you get a better 2nd hand one the cymbals etc (if theyre not cracked or something) will probably sound a whole load better ,negating the need of upgrading. Ive played some cheap kits and they sounded awful so id go for the balance of value and quality otherwise no matter how cheap it may be- it may not sound that rewarding. £250 isnt that different from £120

Allways a good topic of debate though

my drummers kit costs about £5000 last time i asked him, and low and behold anyone that try's to hit his set with the stick other than him.. lol

that said im the same with my gibson / Cole clark lol

yeh, thats the odd thing with my gear too. I tend to use my cheap stuff most 95% of the time so i dont damage the good stuff which is only for recording, well organized gigs or when i feel like a treat. Theres nothing like a sunny day a few drinks and an acoustic guitar -my old yamaha gets more wear then my shoes!

You play acoustic guitar without any shoes on? You are such a hippy!

 same could be said for the singer :whistling:

Sadly, I don't have enough space for this, but this deal certainly makes buying Rock Band for the PS3 or Xbox 360 look a bit silly.

haha yea

This would have been ideal for my 13 year son, if i hadn't recently gone out and bought him an electric drum kit, (thought it would be quieter but the neighbours still complained) and unless you've got the headphones on it sounds awful. The electric kit was recommended by his drum tutor, definately doesn't sound the same.

Wish i'd waited and got this set, then the neighbours would have something to complain about.

Tried that trick, the 2 items could not be delivered together according to Tescos. Meaning I still had to pay delivery for the drumkit and the sim would have been free.

Interesting...

Fancy doing a swap? I'll give you £120 and you give me £250.... deal?
