STARFRIT "THE ROCK" 24cm & 28cm pair of frying pans £50+ elsewhere

Nothing sticks to these pans they're great With their patented design, rough like a rock feel non stick surface, which has an impressive 10 YEAR guarantee. Yes that's correct they have a 10 year guarantee (Tefal 2 yrs)

They have a good weight to them and the full metal riveted handles are sturdy. I do like a good frying pan and these fit the bill. Amongst many things the 24cm pan will be great for doing a Spanish omelette which can usually be tricky sticky and (amongst many things) the 28cm pan is useful as a Pizza stone for doing shop bought pizzas (defrosted or fresh) on the stove-top and finished under the grill, well that's what I do anyway.

Forget all that Tefal rubbish with its peeling Teflon, these are decent for the money and as with anything from Costco, you get a no quibble guarantee should you be dissatisfied at any time of ownership, even years after purchase.

I have Circulon pans and I rate these STARFRIT as good or better.

Taken from product description on Costco website (thanks kingpete)

Product Details
The Rock Cookware Set is sleek, stylish and extremely durable with patent pending Rock.tec technology. This technology uses tiny steel pellets to harden the aluminium creating a permanent, rock-like finish with peaks and hollows on the surface of the pan. These dimples create air pockets under the food, so the food does not have flat surface to stick on. The result is an unparalleled non-stick performance, far superior to any other. This rock-like finish is also highly scratch and abrasion resistant. Each piece is made of extra thick forged aluminium which will not warp and provides optimal heat distribution for even cooking. Riveted cast stainless steel handles stay cool to the touch and the tempered glass lids with steam vent allow you to keep an eye on what's cooking.

thanks OP, is this available in store only? Thanks

Not tried these but I've looked for a long time to find a decent frying pan, I now get mine from IKEA, can't remember the name of the type but excellent weight and very good coating, first pan that can cope ok with Max setting on the induction hob.

Reading the spec for their 10 piece item, it all sounds good. In my home, we have stopped buying any regular and cheap non-stick pans and switched to hard anodized pans the past 2 years. Hope your recommended product is better than what we are using at the moment. I will check it when I go to costco tomorrow.

I've been looking round for pans too, mainly in TK MAXX and nearly bought a 28 cm circulon for £25 a few days ago but the sides tapered in too much for my liking so I didn't bother. I wanted a 28/30 cm pan that had quite straight sides and a quality handle is important to me which these have, I thought £34 for the pair was very reasonable for the quality. When I opened the box and saw the 10 year guarantee I was impressed since they wouldn't give that length of guarantee if they don't think it'd last that long. Just don't use metal implements

We've got these, they are superb. We also have the Kirkland hard anodised set which are also superb but nothing compared to these. Worth buying. You really can fry an egg on them with no oil

If you need pots and lids too maybe this 10pc set could be ok. I already have lots of pots and lids so just needed fryers well chuffed with these.

Thanks OP for posting and reply.

Used a set of these plans for a number of years. They are amazing. Just recently replaced the set as the non stick coating had been completely removed on a couple of the pans.....no doubt due to using hard utensils.

Edit: replaced with something else..... They didn't last quite as long as I expected

The 10 year guarantee is piece of mind for those who use correctly and cost co will give a cash refund no questions asked even after 5 or more years of use. I know this because I returned a Kirkland enamel pot that I had for 4/5 years and the enamel started chipping off. They refunded me with no fuss whatsoever. If these ever develop a fault they will be going back.

For the same reason Costco is the only place you should buy expensive jewellery or electronics like a TV.

Is anyone able to say whether these pans have the same non stick coating as the Scoville Neverstick pans available instore and online from Asda? The coating looks the same and they have a lifetime warranty.

they don't look the same quality, especially the handles and there's no mention of guarantee.

Thanks for the reply.Yes the handles are insulated. The warranty is stated under 'why we love this' in the product information for the pans. Just wondered because I can buy without having a Costco membership and the reviews are good.
