ok but would still like it to come down in price

Everytime a SG-1 DVD post comes up i say the same thing...waiting for them on Blu-ray.

I think if this was ever at the £50 price i would have snapped em up but still a decent deal for a great show.

it is value for money, but I still can't seem to feel the urge to buy it unless it comes down more in price.
Voted hot, but I still won't be buying it until it comes nearer the £50 mark.

I'm also waiting for the £50 mark but I can't see it happening - it took forever for Babylon 5 to hit £50 and that was about two thirds the size of this (which would make a more realistic target £75).

Supposedly the Blu-ray release won't happen as the first 8 season (first few at very least) were recorded too low to ever do more than DVD upscaling could do. Now Stargate Atlantis, that could come out entirely on Blu-ray.

I'm going with 'I'm waiting for the rest of the movies to come out' since the third one is on hold at the moment.

that doesnt stop other tv shows , that were filmed way before stargate came out from being released. if they can put it on disc they will sell it ... doesnt matter the quality

It's a pity cause the movies look excellent on Blu-ray.

I think the early seasons of SG1 were done on video hence DVD quality looks very bad. But season 4 and onwards quality jumps up and then 8 jumps up in quality again.

16 mm (Seasons 1, 2 and 3)
35 mm (Seasons 4, 5, 6 and 7)
HD (Seasons 8, 9 and 10)

MGM/Fox have said the won't release Atlantis Seasons on blu-ray. There was a a very very old announcement Atlantis was coming on blu-ray when MGM was still using sony for distribution.

Other shows might have been done on 35mm film (since it's analogue effective "resolution" is above HD).
16mm is really below HD quality, 35mm is above HD quality, and HD is... HD.

I bought this at about 130 quid. It was a steal then. I can't recommend it enough - but I'll try...

61 discs... containing approx 215 episodes and 2 TV movies...

Let's say the movies in the set are worth a fiver - that means each series costs around £7.50.
Each series has approx 21 episodes each - all are widescreen - seasons 2 to 10 are in 5.1 surround. I watched through and I'll watch again... It's a HUGE package! Extras too - and a generally well put together feel to each series pack.

Trust me - it's well worth it. Amazon have dropped the price to this kind of mark in the past but it's quite rare, so if you're on the fence click BUY now! I personally doubt that they could do the package for 50 quid and make any kind of profit. At 85 quid it's already approx £1.40 a disc!!! It's 40 pence an episode! In what other way are you going to get an hour's worth of entertainment for about 60p ... and get to do it all again ???

Like I say - it's an AWESOME package. If you want the lot, buy it this way, or you'll still have to pay through the nose in the shops if and when you can find each individual series.
