LOVEFiLM Instant will shortly become Amazon Prime Instant Video.

From 26 February, LOVEFiLM customers will need to switch to an Amazon account to access Prime Instant Video and LOVEFiLM by Post.

Switching is simple, and you can easily create a new Amazon account if you don't already have one. If you haven't yet switched your LOVEFiLM account to an Amazon account, please click here. After you switch to using your Amazon account, no other action is required.

After switching, your Watchlist, rental list, payment and account settings will all be available on Prime Instant Video from 26 February. The latest versions of the LOVEFiLM connected TV and mobile applications will be updated to work with your Prime Instant Video membership. The amount of your monthly bill won't change. If you had a LOVEFiLM Hybrid package, you'll now see separate transactions for Prime Instant Video and LOVEFiLM by Post.

Unlimited streaming of more than 15,000 Movies & TV episodes

Introducing Kindle Owners' Lending Library

So if you take amazon prime now, you effectively save £30?

Do we have to pay £20 more for Prime in one years time though?

Prime will rise to £79 after 26th February.

They are forcing Prime members to sub their movie??

Very interesting..this could be worth going for..thanks op.

Those of you who don't know about Prime, its great for next day free delivery and Kindle users too. I guess anyone who subscribes to both will now save money.

Guess I won't be renewing prime this year then. Have some crap you don't want for an extra £30. Gee thanks.

Most possibly, I must stress that the deal detailed here is for £49.00 for the first year.

Which is effectively Amazon prime at its usual cost with free LoveFilm streaming and Kindle Library.

After the first year it is £79 which is £49 for the standard Prime sub and then £2.50 a month for LoveFilm, If we were to hypothetically throw in the Kindle library free.

Leaving aside the "hook the gullible" first-time offer, £80 sounds like a lot of money to watch last year's films and (yet more) TV repeats.

The deal is for £49 for the first year. Your not tied down to stay with them after that so pretty much all the above comments are pointless. You don’t want to pay the £79 then don’t take the second year.

But dont forget your also paying for their fantastic customer service and price matching (_;)

Which you get without Prime anyway.

So if you use Prime for delivery but don't want the 'streaming' bolt-on you're essentially forced into a £30 price hike? Terrific.

Can you not just wait a few days to get your stuff for free, problem solved. Patience is the key here x

Only free if you spend over £10

Prime is awesome. Ordered something Saturday afternoon and arrived Sunday morning

I'm on a £17 a month with lovefilm by post so I now only pay £79 a year ??

what is different, have they changed something about this? It already exists, so wondering why it says 'introducing',as though it's new.

don't forget the complimentary if it's not arrived by next day.

my Prime will be expired in next few months. I just wonder can I extend it now?? So the sub price will be £49 instead of £79 right?

yes Amazon use there own delivery services.

I don't want the movies either! Prime is fantastic, especially around Christmas time, but it's not worth £79 to me.

With no interest in the "extras" offered the "deal" has only informed of a (rather large!) price increase though

Anybody know if you get access to the streaming library if you have a "sub" prime account. As in, one that's been shared with me?

I'll probably be cancelling when I need to renew then. It feels like I am being forced to pay for a service I don't want, or need.

Very sneaky of Amazon. stop all free postage then take it back this way..

My free trial has just ended and I was very impressed with it. It's worth £49 but not £79 so thanks for the heads up.

I have both Lovefilm and Prime, does this mean that I now only pay for the by Post part? I'm tempted to cancel the by post part

Oh Netflix, I feel so sorry for you

The best library, the best software by miles..but here is a blow by Amazon, not going to be easy to compete!

Lovefilm instant may be one of the worst streaming services in the UK, but this is undeniably a bargain. Prime saves you a fortune if you are a regular shopper on Amazon, and effectively becomes free after the first year since they regularly deliver packages late (which entitles you to a free 1 month extension on your prime membership).

Just a shame I can't pay £49 now to extend my prime membership before the price hike Still, got another 8 months left, 5 of which were free..so can't really complain. Prime is will worth the £79 even without the streaming anyway.

Worth noting in addition to the price hike that amazon prime in the US is $79 (about £47) and will be £79 here (about $131).

I love prime so I'll probably continue but at least until renewal free lovefilm !!! Nice. Hot.

Does Amazon Prime do "next day" delivery on 3rd-party seller items, or Amazon marketplace purchases, or "fulfilled by Amazon" purchases?

What about for stuff under £10 (with the above criteria)?
