Startrite shoes are on sale and in my opinion far better and longer lasting than Clarkes. Comes in half sizes and various width fittings.
Hate paying full price but great bargain at the prices shown.

Sales are short lived so dont be long and free returns if dont fit right.

I am 56 years old and these were my first shoes, I didn't know they still made them. I believe all the Royal children had them as well and if there is one thing I can say it is that I grew up with lovely feet and straight toes. Pity the rest doesn't meet the same standard.

ordered 2 pair for £28 delivered, normally more than this for 1 for my daughter, bargain thanks

They are indeed good ones, but they are still expensive and hard to find which one of them are 50% off....

Love Startrite shoes, thanks OP

If you're lucky enough to live locally, the factory in Norwich has an outlet shop open during the week and prices are depending on size and whether you go for trainers/boots/shoes. Got a pair of trainers and a pair of shoes for our little ones for around £30 and they measure them instore. It's just timing it right for sizes and it can get pretty busy

Startrite do half sizes and leather shoes, only ever had one faulty pair in 6 years (6 x 4 = 24 pairs).
My daughter has a high bridge in her foot so Startrite have learnt me that only T-bars shoes will ever fit her properly and her feet have never had any problems, I tried another brand and got called in by the teacher and they had cut into her foot, I felt so bad for not having stayed with Startrite that I wouldnt try another brand again. I live on benefits so have to scrounge every bit so the sales are my favourite places to buy in advance or Ebay. A slim foot is a width fitting E/F, normal G, and wide foot H if its any help to anyone. You can also purchases foot size gauges from them and shoe name tags. Anyone get me a T-Bar in 13. 13.5 and 1 from the outlet shop then I will be quite happy. On a Friday just black polish and they look like new again for next Monday.

Thanks, one of the few decent alternatives to Clarks for kids

Website keeps crashing as soon as you click on either link for sale

Does anyone know what the sizing is like compared to Clarkes?

If you look on the website there should be info on how to measure if you draw the childs foot on a piece of paper. The sizing is different to Clarkes but I cant remember which way, is it up or down 1 size.

Just noticed they have got a new store on ebay. ebay id - start-riteoutlet . The shoes are the same price and the same postage as their main site but you can use paypal.

I am in exactly the same situation as you, a 6 year old with a high instep and its pretty rubbish that only Startrite sell decent T-bar shoes. My daughter is hard on shoes and she went through 4 pair of school shoes and a pair of boots in the school term last year. Try ebay, a seller called - 1ems234 i managed to get some Trinitys off her for £28 per pair, my daughter is a 13g but its your luck as to what she has and in what size.

Good deal.

If you click on boys and use the menus on the left, you can choose the type of shoe you are looking for. Its not all girls or smaller sizes.

Does anyone know a code for free delivery? Thanks
