Just in time for Valentine's

High saturated fat content, high salt, high sugar, high calories. No thanks, even if it is only a fiver.

Lol you only live once.
Enjoy it a bit.
So can't stands health freaks.

I'm sure once in a while won't hurt you. Honestly everything in moderation (within reason) is fine.

That is exactly what I think, especially for fast food restaurants - as long as you are not eating there several times a week, once in a blue moon is not going to matter too much.

this is the worst one of the coop meal deals. the lasagne is horrible.

Had the lasagna on one of the previous meal deals. Wasn't nice at all. Shame as I like these deals normally.

Me too, ended up binning it

Will they swap the lasagne for a vege alternative?

That lasagne looks horselicious.

The co-op are obsessed with putting peas in every offer

Very healthy! Not a health freak, but really?

The lasagne is disgusting. Tasteless and literally no meat in it either

Maybe some people need to educate themselves( not you in particular) on what they are eating sometimes. I know what you're saying about once in a while but that makes it sound like this sort of 'food' is a treat and break from horrible tasting healthier stuff which isn't the case. I would say i'm not a health freak, just careful what goes into my stomach and what it does to the rest of me.Once you stop eating this crap you would prefer a healthy option. Exercise and proper food does make you feel better. Obesity and diabetes a massive problem in the UK.

Hot but wish it was vegetarian lasagna

Nice!

Maybe write an email or letter as I don't think they have ever provided a vege option in these deals.

You have a point, but I can also see why they don't. Vegetarian option, vegan option, diabetic option, gluten-free option, wheat-free option, egg-free option, dairy-free option...the possibilities are endless and there would always be people complaining that their particular option wasn't catered for.
In order to keep prices low the Co-op have obviously chosen to go with foods which are generally acceptable to the wider population who don't have any dietary restrictions, either by choice or necessity. If they offered options they couldn't possibly keep their prices at this level.
I need to have restricted sugar and carbs so some of the foods in these deals aren't suitable but I'd never dream of suggesting that they start offering options.

I was open to what you replied to the initial comment until the point where you referred to the goods on offer as 'food', thus indicating that you don't consider it to be proper food at all. You then referred to it as crap, and you lost me totally. There's really no such thing as good and bad foods, it's just a matter of eating a varied and balanced diet, and not too much of the higher sugar/saturated fat/salt items, but everything has its place. If you choose never to eat the items included in the meal deal then that's your choice, but why imply that people who do are somehow wrong?

To be fair any of the millions of vegetarians co-op would have lost on offering this deal. If you look at the other supermarkets they all cater for vegetarians in their offers. For example marks & Spencer's £10 eat in, waitrose, Sainsburys, Tesco even Morrison's.
