I got bored to wait for Kings' Bounty pack (not sure if they will do it) so bought Kings Bounty the first one for £4.99... Not sure why I typed this here.

I'm feeling a bit like that too - though there have been some great deals, it's just that I have them already! There's just not that much left I want that hasn't been on sale at a great price before - so it takes away the "shine" I used to associate with Steam deals!

Counter Strike Source - £3.49 great game but im sure alot of people cheat
Fallout New Vegas - £17.99 (or £14.99 if you have Fallout 3 on steam) ok, needs lots of hours, no good for me
Arma II - £4.99 - must buy, awesome game, hard and not for COD campers (ai will find and kill you, lol!)
Saints Row 2 - £2.50 pretty good, worth it but i got it free last month
Tom Clancy Ghost Recon series - 75% off xbox ones are good, might take a look
King Arthur Pack - £3.74
Sam & Max - The Devil's Playhouse - £8.99 - yawn, dull
Battlefield 2 Complete Collection - £3.74 awesome game, must buy, imo best online fps, prefer it to c strike
Borderlands - 50% off all games - rubbish, hated it
Overlord - 8% off all games didnt like it
Devil May Cry 4 - £6.99 rubbish
Torchlight - £3.74 good game, some bugs make it easy though

agreed

Torchlight s well worth the money

8% should of course be 80% off for Overlord

The Overlord pack is probably the best deal Steam have ever come out with. It's a hugely underrated spoof of Fable and Pikmin, and I had immense fun and laughed my head off playing the first one!

2.25 for overlord 1, raising hell dlc, and 2 seems quite good...are they any good?

I didn't get anything from yesterdays deals tho was thinking about darksiders.

today's ones looking at saintrow 2, torchlight(been thinking about it for awhile now, have been close to buying it on it's previous reductions), overload complete pack, maybes on ghost recon pack, king arthur pack and bf2 complete collection.

already have sam & max on the ps3 as got them free due to psn+, borderland goty is cheaper from amazon at(£8.75).

Picked up overlord 2 for £1.05, also noticed that the Overlord pack … Picked up overlord 2 for £1.05, also noticed that the Overlord pack contains both Overlord (the original ) and Overlord Raising Hell, which unless I'm mistaken is actually the original PLUS the Raising Hell expansion, i.e. not worth buying the pack (just buy Raising Hell plus Overlord 2 if you want it all, save a few pence.)

well you'd be mistaken as when you go to the rising hell store page it clearly says "Notice: Requires the Steam version of Overlord in order to play."

Got Counter Strike: Source. Been waiting until this got cheap again before buying. V happy now!

though fable got boring quickly......character farting is midly amusing once but after serveral times its not funny

id recommend arma 2, torchlight, cstrike

Deleted my post, confused by the retail version of the DLC including the original game, plus the cost of the "DLC" being more than the original game.

Still nothing to beat the deal on "The Witcher" a couple days ago but Torchlight is a damn good offer.

Fallout New vegas is £11.98 from gameplay and is steamable.

you should put that borderland GOTY is only £15. compared to the £12-£13 disc version.

DMC was 75% off, shame they changed it

Really hoping a good deal on The Singularity pops up soon.

The deal on CSS is absolutely fantastic however I already bought that game AGES ago.

I don't really think their "sale" on Fallout New Vegas is very good at all. There are lots of places outdoing that deal by far.

I'm hoping that they further decrease the offer they currently have for Team Fortress 2 on a daily deal as it's a game I have been looking to get for some time now.

Edit: Oh I bought Saint Row 2 on this deal today, looks like a laugh.

Erm Arma 2 is very very buggy, I suggest people look into it and research it before buying; it can be an incredible game if you know what to expect, or it can be something you'll play once and never again.
Saints Row 2 is also worth a warning as it's meant to be an incredibly bad port; tonnes of fun if you can get it working but again you'd best look into it for your kind of specifications (especially graphics card.). Borderlands is very good if you have people to play it with, to each their own but the reviews were strong, it's a bit like Phantasy Star Online but with guns.
Battlefield 2 has a free hybrid version coming out soon with enhanced graphics (though other details are, as yet, to be revealed). Also Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 1 & 2 are FPS unlike their console counterparts, they're also hardcore (1-2 shots you're dead.) very good though if you want a tactical realistic shooter that's tighter and less buggy than Arma 2.

IMO today is worse than yesterday but if I had to pick 2 games from it I'd go for Torchlight and Overlord 2 as the best of the bunch, value vs enjoyment-wise.

The PC Port of SR2 is horrendous, perhaps worse than that of Bully Scholarship Edition.

The game itself is amazing, but i you can, just save the hassle and get it on 360.

I'm waiting for the Genuinely amazing deals like they had last year. HL1 for 99p etc.

Worth adding that the individual Borderlands DLC are also 50% off

Dr Ned (DLC1) is a nice zombie-themed twist on the original game
General Knoxx (DLC 3) can be treated as an extension of the storyline, as can Claptrap's New Robot Revolution (DLC4).
Moxxie (DLC 2) is best avoided unless you really enjoyed the "arena combat" missions on the main game and/ or have three like-minded friends to play it through with you - its virtually unplayable on SP (if you die on SP, that's it,challenge failed) .
Its also worth noting that if you've seriously levelled in Knoxx (eg to take on Crawmerax) it will take the edge of DLC 4 - while the enemies in the main game and in Knoxx are still levelling with or ahead you so provide a challenge, the latest DLC (Claptrap) doesn't seem to level that far so may seem too easy (and the loot drops unrewarding).

What do you mean by the PC port?

i just bought CSS. thanks OP

anyone knows what is CSS Beta for ?

Hatton 92, big budget games are so expensive to develop that time is money when perfecting the performance and controls on any given platform. In unfortunate cases, games are developed well on one platform and then handled badly when adapted for another, ending in a quantifiable difference in the feel and enjoyment the game brings.

It was released firstly on 360 & PS3, coming a while later for PC. And it's full of bugs, slowdown, random crashes and even on super high end machines it doesnt work properly

Sorry to burst your bubble, but the play4free is a heroes clone. Played the beta, nothing like bf2 in the slightest, didn't see any redeeming qualities either that would make it good after beta.

Valve trial new features, map or balance changes on the public Beta before rolling succesful ones into updates to the "full" CSS game. They've just started doing the same with TF2.

many thanks for replying.

i really like this game alot it reminds me of the good old days when i used to play soldier of fortune 2 gold edition (my first online fps). kudos to valve for keeping on supporting this gem.

btw is there any DLC for this game which i should get ?
Edited by: "as905" 25th Dec 2010

CS: S has no dlc. Well it's had the odd new map and stuff but they're always rolled into updates so what you see is what you get with it. Valve are good at expanding their games for free (Left 4 Dead 2 & Team Fortress 2 being stellar examples)

Oh and thanks for the info Glix. Never took an interest in Heroes but I clocked up more hours than I care to remember on Battlefield 2, might pick it up myself now as I haven't got the addons.
