Come on, where's the first moron to say that there's nothing good on today?

Personally I can recommend Swords and Soliders HD. I bought that a while back and it's a great little game. If you've ever played Cartoon Wars on the iPhone/iPod Touch it is the same premise (side scrolling strategy game).

Plenty of other tempting offers there for me. Amnesia is supposed to be excellent. Plants v Zombies might be worth a punt at that price, as might The Ball. The Quake Collection is jabbing at me as well, though hopefully I'll resist that (doubt I'll play any of them).

Has anybody got any experience of Hearts of Iron III? It's one of those that I know the name of but have never really looked in to.

Give them time. I'm sure they won't be long.

Honestly there is nothing here for me Maybe Plants Vs Zombies. Voting hot as i'm certain some prices are good but i would say this is one of the weaker days.

The brothers in arms games actually have 75% off not 50% off

Buy Amnesia people, **** awesome game! Scariest I've ever played.

That's fine, yes there's not as strong a line up, but people on other threads have just declared everything to be rubbish when some really good games are up! I've spent about a tenner a day on this sale so far, there's a *lot* of good games I've seen!

Still **** off I missed Crysis by 2 minutes! Nothing on today's list I want. Maybe Starcraft 2 will come up in the next few days. Thanks for posting.

sadly starcraft wont as its a blizzard game and im sure they wouldnt sell any of their games slightly cheaper :P.

im waiting for starcraft to drop so my mate can buy it, even tho i think its worth the £35 price tag

Definitely one of the weaker days.

Kinda tempted by Brothers In Arms but I've bought plenty of war games this week, so I'll probably give it a miss.

I highly recommend Amnesia at that price! It's tea towel holder twitch tastic!

dead space is a bargain

was more of a barging in the ea christmas sale at £3.74, was tempted to get it then but stopped myself.

already have plants vs zombies, got it end of october when it was 50% off. stopped myself from getting the doom pack and section 8 yesterday, had them in the cart but left it too late to decide.

don't see much on todays one, thinking about dead space even tho it's more expensive than the ea sale.

Just to say, that Plants v Zombies is fantastic and I'd definitely recommend it. It's an absolute steal at that price. One of my favourite strategy games, despite its apparent simplicity. It gets harder later on and there's tonnes of replay value. I've got 137 hours logged on it, so you'll definitely get your money's worth!

No major games there for me. Do you reckon they will discount TF2 even further? I've been waiting for it to appear in each sale so far...

Thanks for the input. I have played it very briefly on the iPad, and my only reservation is whether I will play something quite that simple when sat at a desk. I think I'll go for it anyway though. At £2.80 I think it's worth the gamble.

It's not the best on PC unless you've a joypad, bad keyboard and mouse lag.

heat added, tempted by The Ball

Good luck on that one, it's a blizzard game- they're not on Steam!

Plants Vs Zombies is fantastic game, I can't recommend it enough.

I've bought The Ball for £3.74, but got a backlog of games to download so can't tell you if it is any good yet!

When does Plants vs Zombies get hard? I got to level 4-6 and I had to stop playing it because it was so mind-numbingly easy.

I've heard good things about that, but I can't really justify it. I too have a backlog of games to play, which has just grown with the addition of Amnesia and Plants vs Zombies.

just bought....
Swords and Soldiers £6.99 to £1.75 (75%) - looks basic but fun

The Ball £14.99 to £3.74 (75% off) - mixed reviewd - looks different

Sniper Ghost Warrior £29.99 to £7.50 (75% off) - mixed reviews but looks good, i suspect are clueless Call of Duty fans who dont like it are the ones who **** off rainbow 6 cause they are useless and just try to rush through the game

Plants v Zombies GOTY £6.99 to £2.80 (60% off) - got this one my iphone

okish deals today

Dead Space £14.99 to £5.10 (66% off) - already bought cheaper last year barely played as i think its pants and overrated - cant stand games that are stingey with ammo and to compound this your character that moves as slowly as a 90 year oap and the creatures move 1000 times quicker than you

The Quake Collection (8 games/packs) £16.99 to £5.78 (66% off) - classic but dating quickly now

Kayne & Lynch 2 £14.99 to £3.74 (75% off) - better games out there but its worth this price - paid the same few months ago

Amnesia £12.99 to £4.42 (66% off) (*£3.12 if you own any Penumbra game) - not played yet but looks good bought few weeks ago for about £3.75

BOH Hells highway - good game but its same price retail @ amazon so not much of a deal (19.99 lol who are steam trying to kid!!)

game sucks...all visuals and no fun

Some fantastic reviews for Amnesia but havent been able to get into any of the penumbra games - is it very similar?

I think it's just that in sales over the past few years there's been better savings on the newer games. A lot of the sales on the newer games this time around are only really bringing the price into line with non steam prices.

Amnesia and Plants vs. Zombies are tempting me today but I've little time and a lot of games still to get through so I think i'll give them a miss.

only played a bit but its as scary as hell, love it and love horror films....makes dead space seem like a picnic outing

graphics are ok, but the sound is amazing and cleverly used
Edited by: "royals" 29th Dec 2010

here's a vid of someone playing Amnesia while chatting to a mate over Skype which has been doing the rounds recently:
youtube.com/wat…3FY (note: turn down speakers, lots of screaming...)

meant to be a v good game, if you like the horror genre and can cope with the scares and tension...

Deals are good but nothing for me, as I already have Plants v Zombies on iOS, Swords & Soldiers on Wii (better as it also has 2 player) and Greed Corp on XBox. Got partsof Brothers in Arms and Quake on PC too.

Been looking at City of Heroes recently, might have to dabble at that price

Amnesia is pretty damn good.

What's with the hate? This is one of the strongest days so far IMO

Dead Space is a decent game, but please get it for consoles if you have one of the two. PC port was appalling when I tried it; dodgy menus, performance issues and an awful game-ruining bug of laggy controls, that improve with using a pad but not enough. Don't waste your time and money.

I got Batman - Arkham Asylum and Red Faction Guerrilla for just under £8 the other day. Pain in the ass to download the games after purchase but at least I have no boxes and DVDs to put away.

Amnesis is a great game. I've completed it already but it was a scary ride!
Just started playing the Penumbra collection I'd purchased from Game Gears for a tenner.

Got The Ball, Swords and Soldiers and Greed Corp for £7.50. Really good day for me!

I enjoyed dead space but yeah it is better on console

Tempted by amnesia but like most already have a huge backlog (some bought in last years sale)
