Developed by id Software, the studio that pioneered the first-person shooter genre and created multiplayer Deathmatch, DOOM returns as a brutally fun and challenging modern-day shooter experience. Relentless demons, impossibly destructive guns, and fast, fluid movement provide the foundation for intense, first-person combat – whether you’re obliterating demon hordes through the depths of Hell in the single-player campaign, or competing against your friends in numerous multiplayer modes. Expand your gameplay experience using DOOM SnapMap game editor to easily create, play, and share your content with the world.

A Relentless Campaign

There is no taking cover or stopping to regenerate health as you beat back Hell’s raging demon hordes. Combine your arsenal of futuristic and iconic guns, upgrades, movement, and an advanced melee system to knock-down, slash, stomp, crush, and blow apart demons in creative and violent ways.

Return of id Multiplayer

Dominate your opponents in DOOM’s signature, fast-paced arena-style combat. In both classic and all-new game modes, annihilate your enemies utilizing your personal blend of skill, powerful weapons, vertical movement, and unique power-ups that allow you to play as a demon.

Endless Possibilities

DOOM SnapMap – a powerful, but easy-to-use game and level editor – allows for limitless gameplay experiences on every platform. Without any previous experience or special expertise, any player can quickly and easily snap together and visually customize maps, add pre-defined or completely custom gameplay, and even edit game logic to create new modes. Instantly play your creation, share it with a friend, or make it available to players around the world – all in-game with the push of a button.

I got hi this last week, and the servers were empty? I think you will also need the new maps to get a good game? Good price on the game heat

Loved the beta, wanted to buy but heard a lot of problems with the multiplayer. Just checked steam and average player count in last 30 days is 2.030 players which isnt the best and would struggle to find a game as westy has stated.
So think il give it a pass.

I agree with most people about this game. The multiplayer is pretty forgettable, fairly standard game modes, load outs experience and unlockables etc.

I bought it for the single player campaign and it was absolutely worth the £20 I paid. The actual plot is minimal but the missions, maps and gameplay are so chuffing satisfying and it looks beautiful even on medium settings.

Some of the collectibles are a bit annoying to find if you're a completionist but you can replay missions in any order after you've finished them.

Solid 8/10 from me but I'm still waiting on the perfect arena shooter.. Hopefully the new quake or Unreal Tournament will satisfy my cravings.

Thanks! I bought it for the single player aswell.

I paid £20 for the single player and worth every penny, it's not that long but I'd rather have a decent few hours than a long mediocre game.

How realistic is this - "There is no taking cover or stopping to regenerate health as you beat back Hell’s raging demon hordes"?
I like action in my action games.

You can use a bit of cover but you're always running round the hoards tbh. No health regeneration just old school health packs. Fun single player.

This game is great fun. You run out in the open, circling and strafing the baddies rather than cowering behind stuff.Quality is top notch as well, visuals are stunning on my PC, one of the very best looking 60fps game I've seen. Do it!!

bought ☺ ty OP

You get health back using the glory kills system (melee finishers). It's a solid game (and well worth £16) but had too many arena fights IMO. Some of the later levels are literally just one arena fight into the next and the next, with the enemies arriving in predictable waves. The original Doom games had some arenas, but most of the levels you were free to play at your own pace.

great single player game, forgettable multiplayer game

Great price but is it wrong to be hoping it drops under a tenner?

nice find

Bought this for £24 recently, single player is good fun so far.

One of my favourite games so far this year. Which was strange because I was expecting it to be a horrible monstrosity that tainted the great Doom name even further but boy was I surprised. That said the multiplayer was a bit meh. But who cares about that when you can massacre the hoards of hell with such glee
