It's a big day today. Our first game Eador. Masters of the Broken World, came out exactly 5 years ago. It was and it is a bit rough around the edges, but still, to this day we're proud of what we've managed to achieve with such a small team.

Naturally, this anniversary calls for proper celebration. So starting today and until Sunday, the game is completely free and yours forever, if you just click 'Install Game' on Eador's Steam page in time. Tell your friends, share the news! Nothing beats free, right? Be warned though, Eador is notorious for eating your time like no other game — in a good way!

It's got a 74 (7.2 user) on Metacritic. I don't think it's 'awful'. That said, I haven't played it.
i just meant it weren't my cup of tea

I've played it - it's not awful but it is an acquired taste. A bit like a very unforgiving version of Heroes of Might and Magic but it's quite a deep and complex game so worth having a bash at if you're into that genre.

I'd probably give it a go for 10 minutes or so if I had a Windows system, but I can't promise any longer.

I hope you've bulked up that library by +1
Added to library.... might play it one day. .... maybe
Thanks for the heads up! :).
Thank you!
I like the first part more. Its more old school but imo better.
Thanks Buzz..
Not a bad game at all, it does have the classical Russian-dev flavour - excruciating difficulty, stupendous length. It has a cool macro gameplay where you get rewarded with new buildings as you conquer shards, which opens up the HoMM style building tree (getting you advanced units etc). It's all a bit slow for me though - rushing the AI down is the main strategy early game, and you have to learn the encounters within tiles (like MoM) to not walk into deathtraps all the time. Once you win a shard it's back to square one on the next, which isn't really my thing with 4x. Lots of cool ideas though, worth a try if you like the genre. I believe the first game might be a bit more focused since it had a story mode, never got round to it though.
Yayyyy free game
Mixed reviews...thanks anyway.
