Got a spare code for the game here if anybody wants it?
According to Steam, I have 2879 hours in this game. So yes, yes I think it might be worth it

The base game is pretty lacking though, you need the DLC to make it shine.

Watch a few vids etc, but if you like the look of it, you might as well just get the top tier version as those 6 DLC's will be worth £1 each easily.

It's got a bit of a learning curve, but follow some guides and it will start to make sense, although it's the kind of game that will see you learning new things even after 1000 hours playing.

The game makes a lot of other grand strategy games look simplistic by contrast.

How does this compare to civilisations?

civ is like animal husbandry and pottery.

alpha centauri is like advanced flight and rocketry.

ck2 and EU4 are like nanotechnology and robotics.

Never played these - but for this price well worth a punt. Any clue how they fare?

I haven’t played these. Hopefully somebody can give an opinion. Gets very positive on Steam and PC Gamer called it a masterwork of a strategy game though.

Very good game guys, I have sank over 270 hours into this over the years, I'm a bit annoyed because i bought art of war DLC just before Christmas for £12.99, this is a extreme deal!

so if u get the third tier bundle how many more DLCs do you need before you have the complete collection?

this and CK2 are the best strategy games. bar none. Paradox make the best ones.

Third tier is equivalent to the Empire bundle on Steam which is all the expansion DLCs. Everything else is cosmetics or music.

Looks to be a pretty complete DLC collection to me, at a very affordable overall price considering the inflated prices on Steam.

Of course it's only good value for money if you actually want to play it.
just wondering how many more cosmetic packs, music packs, DLCs, etc are needed to have a complete version of the game. i've already have CK2 complete, which i've paid for.

been playing a pirate version of EU4 complete and i have enjoyed the game so was thinking about buying the legit keys now.

I don't tend to bother with cosmetics, the whole soundtrack is on spotify so can just load that for the in-game music.
I have the original and some of the expansions, many of the expansions even on sale rarely drop below £10 so for this price this is an absolute steal, I woould definitely go for tier 3 as usually to buy the base game and all of this DLC you are talking AT LEAST over £100.

About the game itself, it is a fantastic game, the learning curve for these types of games is quite steep, but if you have played any of paradox's grand strategy games all the game mechanics will be quite familiar.

You can basically take your one state country and over centuries develop it into an empire that spans the globe using diplomacy, brute force, royal marriages and take over of dysnasties or economic might/trade to expand your empire/strength.

I'm playing hearts of Iron 4 at the moment which is pretty much this game but focused specifically around ww2 so a much shorter timeline and much more emphasis on war and industry, but EU4 is a great game also.

I highly recommend for any grand strategy fans!

How does this compare to civilisations?
If someone has some leftover steam keys for:
Europa Universalis IV: Golden Century
Europa Universalis IV: Dharma
Europa Universalis IV: The Cossacks

Europa Universalis IV: Third Rome
Europa Universalis IV: Pre-Order Pack
Europa Universalis IV: Mare Nostrum

I would really appreciate it, kinda not too fond of spending 17dollars for a couple of DLC's I am missing
I am also willing to purchase them from someone that does not need those, would give 5 quid for them

How does this compare to civilisations?

It's like a real time version but played out on a world map with more complex economy, religious and diplomacy mechanics but arguably more simple battle mechanics (although army, navy maintenance, terrain effects, battle tactics and creation is more complex).

An example might be if you encircle and enemy you can eradicate them rather than them retreating to their nearest safe region.

I think some of those content packs are included - for each one there is the "Expansion" and then a "Content Pack" and they're also available together as a "Collection".
So, for example, if you look at the details for Rights of Man it says "This collection includes both Europa Universalis IV: Rights of Man and the Rights of Man Content Pack", so that must be the Rights of Man Collection.
Although none of the others say this in the description, but unless it says otherwise (e.g. with "Expansion - Europa Universalis IV: Dharma" and "Expansion - Europa Universalis IV: Cradle of Civilization" where they each clearly state just "Expansion") it's possible that you get the Collection.

This would also mean that you get some DLC from those Collections as well, as the Ultimate Unit Pack and Monuments to Power Pack mostly contain things that are in the Content Packs.

So that would make the list of DLC you don't get as follows -

Content Pack - Europa Universalis IV: Cradle of Civilization £5.59
Content Pack - Europa Universalis IV: Dharma £5.59
Content Pack - Europa Universalis IV: Mandate of Heaven £4.79 - Possibly included
Content Pack - Europa Universalis IV: Mare Nostrum £5.59 - Possibly included
Content Pack - Europa Universalis IV: The Cossacks £4.70 - Possibly included
Content Pack - Europa Universalis IV: Common Sense £4.70 - Possibly included
Content Pack - Europa Universalis IV: El Dorado £4.79 - Possibly included
Expansion - Europa Universalis IV: Conquest of Paradise £9.99
Collection - Europa Universalis IV: Monuments to Power Pack £6.19 - Mostly included
Collection - Europa Universalis IV: Ultimate E-book Pack £7.99
Collection - Europa Universalis IV: Ultimate Music Pack £14.99
Collection - Europa Universalis IV: Ultimate Unit Pack £12.39 - Mostly included
Europa Universalis IV: Songs of Yuletide Free
Europa Universalis IV: Catholic Majors Unit Pack Free
Europa Universalis IV: Evangelical Majors Unit Pack Free

And obviously the last three are free, so you can just add them to your Steam library.

So that basically leaves you without Conquest of Paradise - which was the first expansion, so odd that it's not here, but it's got mostly negative reviews on Steam so maybe we're not missing out there - a lot of stuff from the content packs and the ebooks and music. So nothing really significant except the expansion.

If I end up buying it I'll confirm either way for those five maybes.
Great deal. Sean Sands at Gamers with Jobs did a nice series of videos explaining basic concepts, worth a watch if you're new to EU4: youtube.com/pla…2y-

If your undecided about what tier to go for, the base game is currently on Gamepass, give that ago and decide after

Wish i played CK2 before its bundle expired a while back, I now regret not buying the other 2 tiers lol (same for the other Paradox bundles).

it's probably quite barebones though without any of the DLC's, some DLC adds situational things, but for the most part a lot of the stuff I now consider basic is strewn amongst them.

Oh, interesting. So no Content Packs at all, even though the description for Rights of Man says it's included. They must have just copy/pasted the description for the Collection without paying attention!

Still, the expansions are the main thing and that's more than enough game for £13!
