Your title says XII is £4.95 but it's actually £29.74 on the website; I think maybe you mean XIII as in the description?

Yeah, that's the one
Be prepared to mod Final Fantasy VIII. It uses a hideous MIDI soundtrack by default. You'll want to be swapping that out for the original Playstation soundtrack as soon as possible.

Don't touch the PC ports of III through VI with a barge poll. They are lazy mobile ports. The interfaces are an absolute mess.

Final Fantasy deserves more love than Square-Enix have given the PC releases.

To be fair, the ps games were midi's too. They just used the psf for squares sound fonts so all the instuments sounded different to the normal midi crap. Dunno why they didn't just use the recordings of them for the pc ver.
There's also World of Final Fantasy for £12.75
Heat added based on the FFVII price alone. One of the best games of all time.
Does IX have a dodgy midi soundtrack too?
Nope, that uses the ps one.
XIII or XIII-2 ?

Or do you need to play them in order?

For the love of god, do not buy XIII-2. Even with my 1070 and i7 6700k setup that thing runs garbage at 1080p! That thing is a mess of a port, thank god I bought it on steam and got a refund.

XIII However seems to fair better.
