Stream your games to your TV with Steam Link

Simplicity
Setup is easy. Just connect your Steam Link to your TV and home network, where it will automatically discover any computer running Steam. All that’s left to do is grab your favorite controller, kick back, and enjoy your collection of games from the comfort of your couch.

Performance
Steam Link is designed to take advantage of the horsepower you already have in your home, streaming from your current gaming computer by mirroring its experience to your TV. Video and audio data is sent from your computer to the Steam Link, while your controller input is sent back in real time. Virtually every game that your computer runs can be played on your TV using Steam Link.

Still got mine sat in the cupboard from last year. I might buy another to keep each other company.

They generally go down on the build up to a Steam sale as a price match. They are the same price at Steam, but the £8 postage negates any deal, sadly.

Heat

I think well with the money for this. It's actually a decent but of kit of your network runs smoothly with it

Controller any good? Or use my spare Xbox one v1 controller?

The controller is decent, but takes a bit of getting used to. If you want to jump straight into the games though, use an Xbox controller.

I hated the steam controller and immediately regretted purchasing it. Xbox V1 controller is much better IMO.

You can use the Xbox one controller directly with steam link if it's the Bluetooth version otherwise you'll need an adapter.

I'm using my old xbox 360 controllers via an adapter plugged into the steam link

Check the apps available for your tv if new. There's a steam link app for my Samsung

Does this do anything that a computer to computer connection wouldnt?
Also is the ps4 dual shock controller the best for playing PC games (remotely)

Is it 1080p?

Cheers. Ordered. My order from steam from a couple of weeks ago is still not dispatched

Postage from Game probably a lot less.

Not sure what you are asking, this is for streaming games from your gaming PC to another room in your house. Not sure if it supports PS controllers but works fine with Xbox controllers

Still got mine sat in the cupboard from last year. I might buy another to keep each other company.

It’s personal preference. PS4 / Xbox / Steam controllers all work.

may try this

Anyone know if you can have more than one on the network? I. E. Living room and games room?

Hi. Was just wondering if anyone has this issue.
I have a pc to pc connection and in the in home streaming settings it always says not connected. Nothing works and cant get the streaming to work.
Same issue on my smart tv with the app. It just doesnt connect and no setting fixes that.
Has anyone had the same issue or have any advice i would greatly appreciate it as its really frustrating knowing it has the capability but for some reason its not working.
Thanks

I use a hdmi lead from my PC to my tv currently and a Xbox game pad. Is this a better option?

Bought this while on sale last time. I game at 1440 on the pc so doesn’t seem to work on the steam link unless I change my pc resolution to 1080 which is a pain. Also when playing games like pubg and rust, I seem to get really bad picture quality, and that’s through wired 76Mbs internet 😞

Yes if you're not falling over the lead. This is for streaming to an alternative screen where a direct connection isn't feasible

Doesn't matter what your internet connection is. It uses your internal network so will need to use ethernet for best results.

So if I have a 4k system I'm going to have to change it too 1080p when ever I want to use the link?? Be a bit of a pain that.

Do you have a 4k system though?

Can you stream the games your wanting to play and play them on this and have someone play on the PC itself at the same time?

You can't reasonably expect 4k or even 1440p streaming on a little low power sub £20 box like this, plus most peoples home network wouldn't be up to streaming that anyway. Still think valve could have missed a trick by not making a pro version that does support 1440p and 4k for those with the necessary hardware and network...

Only if it's the same game and you're playing two player on one screen.

Your PC will be displaying a mirror of what's on the TV.

Oh god. Not best like. Hate split screen. Thanks tho man 👊

Get nvidia Shield for 4k streaming. I use mine and get 4k at 60fps

These work quite well, hot from me.

You might already have this built into your TV, I know my Samsung TV has it - worth checking this first.

I assume you need wired ethernet for that to work well?

Pc is wired Shield is wireless.

Cheers op, ordered

I found the delay in playing games makes it near impossible to play. It is amazing that it can send all the controls up to the PC and stream back an HD image in such a short time but there is a noticeable delay when playing any games which require quick response (eg Rocket league)

it's the non bluetooth version I have, what adaptor do I need?

Seen these cheap a few times, have ordered one will give it a try though. 1% TCB if it's even worth it

No delay at all on my wired network - tested using plenty of games, incl. Rocket League. Smth must be wrong with your connection...
