Valve fire selling the remaining Steam Link stock I'm guessing. £8.20 with shipping. Looks like you can get Human Fall Flat with it, for free, too.

Bought one just to have one.

Edit: actually £8.20.

This looks a great deal - is the Steam Link actually any good?

Something I've looked at for a while, but never took the plunge.

I'm giving it a go at this price, definitely the cheapest since Game were selling for £4. From what I've seen, it was only the Steam Controller that wasn't great.

Nice one, I'm thinking the same - cracking price.

That's what I've read. I can get the PC wired to the router to improve the connection, so hopefully it'll work alright.
Where is this 80p? I can only see 39.99?
Showing as full price for me

    Its good on wired internet
Select a bundle and it's 80p in it but then you got to pay the extra for what's in the bundle then postage on top £14.19 for me.

I bought one of these for my son when it was £14.99.
    He's never even opened it.😡
Yes bought mine from Game when they were cheap, still have opened it yet.
How does this work with games like totalwar:warhammer?
I have one and it just mirrors your pc via the steam link and controller. It's great works fine for me and playing the free game that was posted this week over the link right now. I paid 14.99 for cex so this is a bargain

The Steam controller is actually really good, but often requires effort on the user's part to get the most out of it. I can't go back to a standard controller after having one since November last year.

It got panned on release mainly because people were comparing it directly to a mouse (and a mouse is always better) and/or people were using it to emulate analogue movement.
Have 2 both £10 each at diff times. Never got to work well on WiFi, too much stuttering. I use home plug on one and LAN connection to the router on the other and work great.
How do you get the free shipping? comes up as £14.99 for me (with shipping)
only works decently with a wired ethernet connection im afraid. Wifi is very poor despite my router being in the next room
Does anyone recommend getting a Steam Machine if you can't afford to build a PC or have the space for one?
    Wow.. 80p!
This seems to be a misleading title - how do you get it for 8.20 with shipping. Comes up as £14.19 with shipping?

It's not a replacement PC. It just allows you to stream live video and audio from your pc to a tv which has the steam box plugged into it.

It's not really 80p, when you add the extortionate postage the cheapest you can get it for is £8 and then you have to buy a game on top for at least £6, now you are up to £14
    Same, £14 for me

I took the plunge at £20, as I wanted to try a few of games (namely Civ 6) on the new 65" TV.

After a bit of pain setting it up (had to disable windows firewall), it works perfectly. It's in a drawer under the TV, completely out of sight. Down the side of the sofa, I have a cheap Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. As soon as the keyboard is turned on, the steam link also turns on. I haven't played anything that needs minimal lag but strategy games are perfect.

Also, you can minimise Steam and you just have a great way to use your pc downstairs.
Damn, fancied one but not paying £14 for postage and a game I don't want...

Yes I know that is what a Steam 'Link' does but I am asking about a Steam 'Machine' which is an Alienware console that sits under your TV costing £400 +

No it’s not! I purchased it the very first day it got released. I have Apple airport so about 1.8gbps intranet available but it still drops in quality even after using cable connection. Being limited to 1080 also sucks.

Same with PS attempts with the Vita and PS TV, wired was "ok" but still not the best, no wonder Nintendo had their tech Patented because that is brilliant, even the Wii U was amazing but limited

Remaining stock? Is it being discontinued or something? I haven't heard anything.
Also it's not exactly 80p or £8.20 as it has to be bought with a game, so the cheapest option is £6.79 to get it with Human Fall Flat and then the £7.40 shipping makes it £14.19 - and that's not exactly a cheap price for that game, and you won't be able to buy the bundle at all if you already own the game. I already own all 3 games it's bundled with so there's no way I can get it for anything less than full price.

No one said anything about free shipping. As it says in title, the deal is that the Steam Link is 80p , shipping is £7.40, so £8.20 total - except as I just mentioned above, and other people have pointed out, you have to buy it with a game to get it for 80p, so the cost of the game needs to be added too.

Well it does make a point of saying "Wired network is strongly recommended". Streaming video and audio requires a lot of bandwidth and obviously this is trying to do it with as low latency as possible, so while some people might be able to get by on wi-fi (with a really good router and nothing causing interference) most of us are going to get poor results. If you're going to use a Steam Link somewhere that's not in easy reach of your router I can suggest using powerline adapters to get a fast wired connection through your house's electrical wiring.

How does this work with games like totalwar:warhammer?

What do you mean, exactly? It basically mirrors your PC's display to a TV across your network, so you connect a keyboard, mouse, controller, etc. to the Steam Link, start the connection to your PC (by default it connects straight to Steam in Big Picture mode, making it very couch/controller friendly) then launch the game you want. So it will work with Total War: Warhammer the same as any other game - you'll be playing it exactly as you would on your PC, except on a remote display, and quality and latency will depend on your network setup.

They haven't been well received or sold very well - I can't even find one for sale at the moment - and SteamOS is extremely limiting and (apparently) unstable, so that would be an issue unless you got one with Windows 10 (or installed it yourself).
If you can afford a Steam Machine I don't see how you couldn't afford to build your own PC of similar spec and size, and you'd be better off for it.

Use this via a wired home plug network. It’s superb.
This is not expired, it was just listed incorrectly. It's 80p plus P&P, but only as part of 3 bundles

I use one for streaming football to my tv. Works great with anything on a pc screen. Also decent for games with zero lag, but I use a PS4 controller with it as the steam controller is just awful.

Nice one - I tend to use my XBO controller for Steam games and it seems to work ok.

Streaming footy/laptop stuff seems a bonus.

I got it @ 80p, with the additional game, so can't really complain at that price

Pure garbage. Have it on a wired connection, even though streaming shows 60 fps, it looks distinctly choppier than on the pc. TV has a refresh of 60HZ. Doesn't make a difference.
