Down from £30, this deal comes about every now and again, but its back now if you missed it last time.

Chrisredmayne made a point. Some Samsung TV's now have an official Steam app that does exactly what the steam link does. So you may not need this.

Have 2 of these.
Don't use them much, but got both in previous £10 deals.
They allow me to run games fro my PCs upstairs to the larger TVs downstairs.
I've had little luck with wifi - low quality / stuttering, even though I have a 20-30Mb MB/s connection, but if you can get them wired to your network, they work really well.
You can add non-steam games to Steam and run them that way.
At this kind of price you can t go wrong (if you are wired up)

I thought the app wasn't in the uk
do you know what the app is called? as I looked on app store and couldn't find it
thanks for your help
Just bought one! I'll barely use it but its nice that the option to game on the living room TV will be there
Better at streaming games than the Nvidia Shield (I have both)

It's just called steam... out now but only on newer devices
Bought one 4 days ago for £25 from fleabay. Drat.
Use mine for streaming my VR games to the TV in the living room, as I've got 10 meter extension cables running for the Vive. £12 is a great price, but don't think I need another (I paid £40!)

You serious? Why/how is it better than nVidia Shield?

Does Steam Link support 4K 60fps?

He's right, I have both too, the steam link is only 1080p but it's not a stuttering mess like the shield can be.
I use mine just to get access to PC and laptop on the TV which has been very useful. Excellent bit of kit!

Your Internet speed isn't relevant - data is only transmitted within your local network.

Anyway, I love my Steam Link - a bargain at £40! Gaming aside, it's a great way to watch Sky Go on TV.
Ordered. Thanks!
does it lag at all? works for street fighter v?
I have ordered one, I don't know what I will use it for other than football manager but hey ho.
This site will be the ruin of me... Ordered both a Gear VR and Steam Link today already. Cheeers!

I'd decided that I would 100% get an nVidia Shield when my current media PC in the living room packs in. This has now cast doubt on that certainty. God Dammit
Cheers, ordered, heat added.
I'm glad I got it this time!

If your PC is wired, (or at least you've got a very good WiFi card in your PC), then the nVidia Shield is amazing.

I stream 4k 60 games from the PC upstairs, and it's flawless. You can't tell it's being streamed, zero latency, full quality. PC is connected to 5Ghz Wifi, Shield is Ethernet.

Yeah, I got Ethernet wired around the house after I bought it as I had to redo all the electrics anyway.

PC upstairs, media PC, TV, nVidia Shield are/would be wired.

Handheld devices (laptops, tablets, mobiles) would be running on WiFi.

Yes, that would work. Well, it works like that with Steam In-Home Streaming, anyway.

Bought it a while back, nice piece of kit but it has a terrible problem where you cannot turn off the host machines screen (or close the laptop lid). If you do the graphics driver starts glitching.

How do this work with audio? If I'm using this to stream to my TV will the audio also come through my TV?

I still love my shield, and you might be luckier with gamestream than I have been. Seems some people either don't notice the stutter, which I'm very sensitive to, or they just don't get any. I even spoke to Nvidia and they were stumped, I do not find their support very helpful tbh.

I hope Android O brings some improvements, if they get around to releasing it. And on a side note, the lack of decent catchup apps is pretty poor, you only really get iPlayer, we still don't have any of the other big channels after all this time. But it's still the most powerful Android tv box I suppose (I think?)
Ordered, have some heat
Ordered one. Hoping it performs better than my micro pc I currently use.
Remember make sure your WiFi is at least 5ghz N or even better AC with no extenders or this performs very badly.
Does this only work with a Samsung TV. Curently have a 2 year old Sony.

My internet connection is 150mb/s. it was my wifi that is 20/30mb/s at the worst end and it was stuttering at that speed.
It was using the Virgin Superhub 2. Not tried it since I got the Superhub 3. But loads of people have wifi issues with the Steam link.

You don't need the steam controller (thank goodness - couldn't get used to it at all). Xbox 360 controller works great. Works with the wireless USB dongle too. I think it has Bluetooth so could work with PS4 controllers but not tries it.
You can also plug in USB keyboard and mouse.

Here is a list: steam.wikia.com/wik…ink

I just dont know what the cheapest option will be. Would have thought PS3 controllers would have been pennies on ebay.
