Hey guys, Sega's Make War not Love 5 campaign has started and they've made a right old hash of it So it's not currently up yet, although it was expected at 6pm.

Anyway, as stated on the Steam page, they're giving away two free games when you sign in with Steam...

"How do I get involved?

All you need to do is SIGN UP (and get two free SEGA Mega drive titles from the outset!) and then play any one (or more) of the MWNL feature titles. Your play hours throughout the MWNL event will then be added to the combined communities total play hours. If the communities combined efforts achieve the daily hour target**, a free prize bundle will be unlocked for everyone!
For more details about entering the promotion, please ensure you read our terms and conditions.
*Sign ups need to be over 18 and provide a valid Steam ID and email address to register
**Daily hourly targets will be measured through a 24-hour period from 9am GMT - 9am GMT"

I got a little bored waiting for the page to refresh and decided to check out the page's source code...

Thanks for the share Buzz, loved those two games back in the day. Welcomed addition to my Steam collection.
Thanks for the heads up
Streets of rage 2 was amazing. Many hours of my youth spent playing this game.
Sure this is legit? I'm a bit edgy and chickened out at the bit where it wanted my steam login details.

Steam guard popped up when I tried to login (which I have set up just in case), so its definitely going through Steam and not just logging our details. And both games have been added to my collection

Good for you. I'm still waiting for mine even though it said they were installed.

Just wondering, do you know that the games show up in your steam library as add-ons for the "Sega Mega Drive and Genesis Classics" game? Just thought that might be why you can't see them in your library.

Mine were found in "Sega Megadrive and Genesis Classics. Were applied immediatelky after I allow Sega to activate games and keys in Steam.

There's a perfectly reasonable explanation. Everytime I saw it I couldn't stop thinking 'South Park' and 'Warcraft'
Edited by: "BuzzDuraband" 12th Feb
Some similarities with last time's line-up there. I certainly recommend "Renegade Ops" to fans of twin-stick shooters like me: it's awesome! (And it has a hidden Smash TV homage room).
good digging to find the games
If the leaked line-up is true then there's not really anything new for those who have participated in previous years, just some new DLCs. Bit disappointing but still a good deal for those who didn't get the games previously
Grand upper!!!
niceone cheers!
So what are the MWNL titles you have to play? The ones on the page once you have registered?
Thanks Buz..
Disapointing these aren't keys any more.
Heat for the heads up! Sadly the greatest RTS (outside of StarCraft) was ruined by it's move to Steam. The online games of Company of Heroes are riddled with rage quitters which makes the time commitment to the game not worth while. I own 4, yes 4 physical copies of the original and 2 physical copies of CoH 2 and the steam version already. The AI still sucks and unless you can convince your friends to join in the online gaming just isn't what it used to be...

Are the feature titles just the freebies? Can't see a clear answer on the Steam page.
good just for the 2 megadrive games!
this MLNW offer was not great last year (i think i got a comic?) but previous years were really good.

I've claimed each year but stil don't have steam installed!!
Free Stuff, great thanks.
Streets of Rage 1-2, the greatest in game music of any game ever released.

Thanks Buzz. You remind me of the last boss, Mr X, you're just a friendlier version.
How do I redeem the other free games? Do I need to go to the Make War not Love website each day and redeem?
signed up last night, but still no freebies in my steam lib?
Make love not war!

....by playing violent beat em ups! Yeah this makes.....sense?!

Yeah, I made the same mistake. It's 'Make War not Love'
anyone elses getting stuck on the final "enter your email" bit? after linking to steam?
Alpha Protocol looks good.
So as this is directly activating the games on my Steam account, rather than giving me keys, does that mean I'll miss out on the Warhammer II DLC as I don't own the base game? As in, if I buy the base game at a later date will there be some way to claim it then? Just wondering if anyone knows but if I find the answer I'll post here.

I don't see how that has anything to do with its move to Steam. Steam didn't make the AI suck and transferring from Gamespy to Steam for multiplayer servers isn't the reason people rage quit.
The game is over 11 years old now so it's not surprising the multiplayer community isn't what it was, but given that Gamespy was shut down it had to move somewhere or it wouldn't have multiplayer at all anymore, so it's better than nothing - and it's more than EA have done for the C&C games (although they still have a strong multiplayer community thanks to fan-run servers).
anyone got the free games yet? 'cos i certainly haven't.

You should find them to be activated immediately. Are you looking int he right place? They count as DLC for the Mega Drive collection.

ffs i found out about this too late, now no chance at the other free games!
