In Prey, you awaken aboard Talos I, a space station orbiting the moon in the year 2032. You are the key subject of an experiment meant to alter humanity forever – but things have gone terribly wrong. The space station has been overrun by hostile aliens and you are now being hunted. As you dig into the dark secrets of Talos I and your own past, you must survive using the tools found on the station -- your wits, weapons, and mind-bending abilities. The fate of the Talos I and everyone aboard is in your hands.

  • Sci-fi Thriller
Nothing is as it seems aboard Talos I. As Morgan Yu, set out to unravel the clues you've left behind for yourself, and discover the truth about your past. What role will you play in TranStar’s plans, and the mysterious threat ravaging the station?
  • Singular Setting
Orbiting the Moon, the Talos I space station symbolizes the height of private space enterprise. Explore a lavish craft designed to reflect corporate luxury of the 1960s, and navigate interconnected, non-linear pathways built to hide countless secrets.
  • Unimaginable Threat
The shadowy extraterrestrial presence infesting Talos I is a living ecology bent on annihilating its prey. It’s up to you, one of the last remaining survivors aboard the station, to end the deadly attack of these haunting predators.
  • Challenge
Customize your gameplay options and difficulty settings for an even more tailored adventure. You can make the experience more challenging (or easier) by changing a myriad of parameters related to stealth, movement and combat.
  • Play Your Way
Gain alien abilities to develop a distinct combination of powers and upgrade your unique skills. Craft increasingly useful items with the blueprints, gadgets and tools on board the station to overcome dangerous obstacles in your way. Survive unprecedented threats with your wits and ability to improvise.

On the 1st deal of hudk, buzzduraband gave to me, malarky with cdkeys :P
Got this in the Black Friday sales - amazing game, very underrated.
It's probably well rated but people probably don't know what they're missing - it hasn't been hyped and went cheap quickly. It's very polished and lots to do - equal to any other AAA title this year.

Let's not get carried away. This is a fantastic game but nothing will ever top the original Bioshock
I shall purchase when I'm home
Audio is broken in this game. 5.1 surround doesn't work properly, the directional audio is broken at least in some portions of the game. The latest patch 1.05 released in August didnt fix the audio. It did break native controller support though. The latest version doesn't have native xinput controller support, thats Xbox one or 360 controllers. Bethesda are ignoring all requests to fix native controller support again. 4 months since the patch 1.05 and it's still broken.

Is the game still worth buying or is other aspects of the game broken?
Pretty good game with a couple of poor design decisions glued together with bloody awful combat.

Yeah I had the same opinion on the V1 release , I hated it , but managed to play a couple of hours of a later version and really enjoyed the game...the 1st hour does kinda suck though when you just have the glue gun thing !

If you don't value surround sound too much, and either play with m&k or use the community patch to fix controller support, the game is still worth buying.

Just a shame Bethesda have never addressed the issues themselves even though there's so many posts on steam forums about it.
People rave about this game but I was put off by the demo. I got so bored of the Mimics jumping out of everything I cancelled my preorder

The first hour is a drag, but it does improve a lot once you get better guns and a bit more freedom.

System Shock 2 would like to have a word with you...
It has come down so much since I preordered it. I'm still waiting for the DLC's Raphael Colantonio said we would be getting. If there aren't going to be any actual DLC's then there isn't enough to do considering the size of the game.
DLC doesn't work on Steam?
Thanks OP

Unbelievable especially from such a big publisher.
This needs to go below 10 pounds and I am game.
The loading times ruined it for me. The last hour of the game is pretty unplayable. Walk 30 seconds then wait 90 seconds for a loading screen....repeat about 30 times. Other than that I quite enjoyed it.

Yep I agree. I’d argue that they should never have released the console version in that state. Such a shame. Anyway I bought it cheap, finished it and sold for a profit on eBay so not a total disaster.

I bought it at release and totally hated it. I never had enough ammo, got stuck with a 'boss'in the garden thing and uninstalled it in disgust. Did they update it to a better version ? How so ?

I have only recently started playing the game properly on PC recently, but I have never felt I did not have enough ammo, currently around 7 hours into the game, I have yet to meet the boss in the garden.

But very much enjoying the game considering my overall hate for the 1 hour free demo I played on the ps4 just before release, which put me off buying the game for months.
