Great game but only played 2 hours? .... wtf
Heat added, DLC is also discounted
How "playable" is the game without DLC? It seems like a lot of the recent reviews complain about too much content being locked by DLC. Thanks!

I've played without dlc. Not a simulation game fan but the kids love theme parks. I watched them and had to have a go. I spent a good few hours with it and it's intuitive and incredibly detailed. I love the fact you can zoom right in on the people, and ride the rides first person. I think there's loads of content but as I say I had no expectations. It is quality however.

Very very playable, you'll have more than enough parts to build pretty much any park/item you can think of - the DLC is essentially new building parts for your park (think of it like lego). I don't have any of the DLC, but have spent about 150+ hours building parks and working through the campaign levels.

When I played it I couldn't seem to see any sort of progression like you get with Jurassic World Evolution where you unlock new islands by meeting certain criteria. Planet Coaster didn't seem to have that - just sandbox mode with no real end goal or "campaign mode" with pre-made parks with a specific task or scenario to complete. JWE gave you the best of both worlds, so for me it's a far superior game.

Have they changed that in the last few years, or does any of the DLC change that?
I'm waiting for all the dlc to come out before investing money into it, don't like missing out on games extra parts
It's a fantastic game. If you like this sort of thing, buy it

Parkitect is probably what you're looking for. I haven't played it to confirm whether it has some kinda campaign or progression system but it's supposed to be more in line with the old Roller Coaster Tycoon games. I'm holding out for Parkitect. I want to manage a park not just build rides.
