The Empire of Tamriel is on the edge. The High King of Skyrim has been murdered. Alliances form as claims to the throne are made. Very true! But for some reason, despite me spending hours upon hours downloading mods on the Skyrim Nexus site improving all aspects of the game, it still doesn't grab me anything like in the way that Morrowind did. It just lacks charm, charisma, something I can't easily put my finger on.

Perhaps, though there is a lot to do in the game, especially when 100+ mods have been carefully selected together. Interesting NPC's helps to give characters a bit more life, it really is a fantastic mod. I really couldn't play Vanilla Skyrim now without being feeling like it's all a bit of a chore.

Also, I think that Morrowind had a fantastic setting. Skyrim is just a typical medieval fantasy land that we've all seen countless times before. I get that Skyrim is supposed to be a dark, somewhat brutal place. But it all just seemed really, really dull.

cheers!

Now if only the DLC was ever on sale.

I am playing Skyrim right now, it newer ends with all 3 DLC and Hi-resolution texture packs as well. And good thing that I don't want it end.

Just started playing this for the first time and I cannot say it has grabbed me like Fallout 3 did once I had endured the tedious vault stage.

Buy the Legendary Edition, it will update your game without affecting your save. It's what i did.

The first time i played Skyrim, i stopped after 45 minutes and did not touch it for few month. I tried again from the beginning and now i have 296 hours on the clock. (and i haven't finish yet)

Almost 200 hours through. Should probably go to High Hrothgar at some point.

I should imagine you'll be just about powerful enough to deal with the Frost Troll that lurks there as you make your way up the Seven Thousand Steps!
