Update: Thanks to Shango for pointing out - now £1.78 at Greenman Gaming in a 70% off deal; link below!

Fantastic, fantastic game - criminal not to pick it up at this price!

You play an Uplink Agent who makes a living by performing jobs for major corporations. Your tasks involve hacking into rival computer systems, stealing research data, sabotaging other companies, laundering money, erasing evidence, or framing innocent people.

You use the money you earn to upgrade your computer systems, and to buy new software and tools. As your experience level increases you find more dangerous and profitable missions become available. You can speculate on a fully working stock market (and even influence its outcome). You can modify peoples academic or criminal records. You can divert money from bank transfers into your own accounts. You can even take part in the construction of the most deadly computer virus ever designed.

Awesome game, definitely worth £2

basic but good fun for a while.....got it free a while bacj on green man

For just £2.04 you can train to be the Sony hacker of tommorow!

I'd buy this but I'm glued to witcher 2, the game is so amazing.

Words can't express how much I love that game xD

So.... are we going to see EVERY Steam deal of the day on here?

I guess so, if they are good and ubisoft have their deal week so I think we'll see more than one

Have some heat, brilliant game

Comes free with Defcon if you are thinking about getting that.

Meh.

When was the last update of this game? It suppose to be abandonware by now!

Just bought the Steam version. Prefer all my games in one place so it's worth the 26p premium :-p

I had the very first version of this game direct from the developers, waaaaay back when.

Great game, hot hot hot.

Only £1.78 on here as well, arguably a better site as they let you trade in.

Really?
For the sake of £0.26 I would say that getting it from GMG is cold in comparison to getting it from Steam.
GMG is a pretty shoddy setup, I try and avoid buying unless they have a stellar price on something.

greenmangaming have necrovision free atm with 50p trade in so can get this for 1.28 there
also been said the free game tradein may go up after promo so perhaps better to wait

Thanks for reminding me, I've already got this (free with DefCon years ago) and never got round to playing it!

Just noticed that Green Man Gaming is also selling Deus Ex GOTY for £2.97, 50% off: greenmangaming.com/gam…on/

I've no idea how long it has been at that price, but if you haven't played it before...do. Awesome game.

By the way, I've never used GMG before. Are their games DRM free like GOG.com?

GMG is currently blocked for me, but last night there was the offer to get Necrovision Lost Company for free from them - with a trade in value of 50p. So potentially you can get Uplink for only £1.28 through GMG, and still be able to trade it back afterwards

The Necrovision deal was due to end Wednesday (today) though didn't give a specific time or time zone. Someone else who can get on the GMG site can hopefully confirm if that offer is still valid.

no idea what it is, but looks good and cheaper than a pint. I just bought it, have some heat!

I'm just on downloading it, let's see what the fuss is about.

Just dug out my CD for this from 6-7 years ago. Amazing fun. Hacking LAN's is immense.

This game is bloody scary, probably just me.

Some people don't like Steam (I do already own Uplink on it) but for a small game like this which doesn't require any connectivity online then GMG is fine. Especially if you can get a bit of it back if you don't particularly like it. Which I'm sure loads of people would because it's a very niche game.

I got stuck, Couldn't see the files it was asking for. Gave up. lol

Thanks for the heads up. Just bought on Steam.
