I bought Empire:Total War for £6.79 and Rome:Total War for £1.69, only bought the latter as it was sub £2 , dont really see me needing more than one of them, also checking out the reviews it says that Empire is more accessible, sorted out a few of the problems and is an ideal place to start.

Quite lucky actually as I was going to buy Rome: Total War on Saturday, glad I didnt now :-D

medieval 2 is far more playable - the fun went out of war when all the guns can in :whistling:

Steam dodgy? Not likely, think you're in the wrong thread.

+1 Ridiculous accusation.

Good deal, just wish I had a 70 inch tv to play these games on they would be awesome like the game show that had total war rome game being played by contestants. Like controlling lil ants you cant see whats going on and control your army at the same time.

bargain, ive been playing the demo for the last week thinking of getting it, have now :-)

Awesome!

Definitely a bargain was planning to buy Empire total war on ebay but waiting for lower price till this comes up, £13 getting all others

Anyone know if you can play any of these on a netbook, like asus 1005ha?

Rome would be nice or medieval

no chance on a netbook - you might get awy with shogun total war - the first edition of the total war but that pretty poo in comparison to the later editions

rome requirement alone are
Operating System: English version of Microsoft® Windows® 98SE/ME/2000/XP Processor: Pentium® III 1.0GHz (1000MHz) or Athlon™ 1.0GHz (1000MHz) processor or higher RAM: 256MB RAM CD-ROM: 8x Speed CD-ROM drive (1200KB/sec sustained transfer rate) and latest drivers Hard Drive: 2.9GB of uncompressed free hard disk space (plus 500MB for Windows® swap file) Video Card: 3D hardware Accelerator Card Required - 100% DirectX® 9.0b compatible 64MB Hardware Accelerated video card and the latest drivers*.

Also on offer is the Medieval II : Total War Complete Pack
Items included:
Medieval II: Total War™ - Was £9.99 Now £3.39
Medieval II: Total War™ Kingdoms - £4.99

Individual price: £8.38
Package price: £13.99
Total War Week - 66% Off: -£9.24

Cost to you: £4.75
You save: £3.63

You're actually saving £9.24 if you were to buy the package when the 66% deal wasn't on, but it's £11.25 saving if you were to buy them seperately without this deal... Confusing, Yep
-------------------------
Having looked further, everything in the Total War range is reduced by 66% except Napoleon..

they are not dodgy but their customer service is naff

word of warning make each game a separate purchase because they refuse to refund a single game from a multi game order

edit:
hot deal though

Not really into PC gaming these days, this game good? Last game I played like this was Sid Meirs Pirates

Blimey. Bargain.

I'm using the same machine I had to upgrade to play Rome. Strangely, Medieval 2 played better on that. Will pick this up to either (a) run at tiny resolution, or (b) prompt me to finally buy a new computer...

I paid a sight more for Rome, BI, Alexander, M2, and Kingdoms separately back in the day. They're all stunning, by the way, if you like strategy games... my favourite would have to be Barbarian Invasion, though

What's this cheap DLC that the title is referring to?

The dlc are only 10% not 60%, total up £10 ish if you get all saving £1-2

Good deal - Heat and rep to OP.
Just picked up the complete pack and d/loading now.

I take it I will be able to play multiplayer OK with a non-steam retail version ?

Bought

Long time Total War fan here and i would recommend all of them. Empire: Total War was a nightmare when it was released and caused me a whole load of headaches but in true TW style, a year later and its absolutely brilliant. As for the DLC, well i own all the ones that add new units. Its up to you to decide whether its worth it.

I don't own 'The Warpath Campaign' though.

How big is the download?

Anyone know if this will run on vista?

Well I've tried all the games on W7 and they seem to work fine so shouldn't be any problems with Vista.

Krunch09;7790379

How big is the download?

Almost 15 GB for Empire alone !!

i not into RTS style games very much, but my housemate nagged me that it not all RTS and showed me his- it looks alright so thought worth the risk for tiny investment...bought the Rome: total war complete pack...

the gold pack was £1.69, and the Alexander expansion was £3.39...but the Rome: Total War complete pack (as shown on page for Gold edition) includes Alexander and still cost £3.39

so if you want Alexander, buy the whole game again and you can gift the original to a friend

Would highly recommend this deal for any RTS lovers though- non-RTS- its still worth a try, good game, just not my prefered style

p.s. +1 more ridiculous accusation- never had a single problem with steam, especially concerning money

Duplicate purchases do not turn into gift passes, except for promotional items.

You sure tomj? I always thought they did. Nice to know. Thanks.

Has the price changed? It says Empire: Total War is £10.19 ???

What happened to it being £6 odd?

Yeh, it's up to 10.19. I didn't check what the full price before reduction was yesterday, so they might have put the original price up. It's still 66% off though. And the full Total War Pack is still £13.59 which is great

Will this work on a Compaq 311 with Ion?

Well i bought half life 2 couple of years ago and when i bought the orange box on release day (which includes half life 2) it gave me a gift pass of the extra copy...the only thing is you cannot gift to someone who already owns the game

Yeh, it only applies to certain games though. Mostly Valve ones.. You can't gift any of the Total War series I think...

OP I have expired this once, as it is not available for the £6 price, it needs to be adjusted to reflect the actual price. Thanks
