The Steam winter sale is now live and will run for 14 days with various discounts being offered site wide.

you may not be able to access the store for several minutes after it begins. Steam servers usually get absolutely hammered during the Winter Sale, especially in those first few hours

Voting on the Steam Awards 2019 also kicks off today alongside the sale.

The Steam Winter Sale will be available until Thursday, January 2 at the same times above.

steamdb.info/sales is my favourite way to check out their sales once it has updated with the new prices (of course ITAD and GG along with Augmented Steam are useful for other sources).

Dunno about the website but the client is unusually fast for me less than one hour in. Maybe because as seems to be usual for these Steam sales it's all pretty ho hum, some pretty good deals, Planet Coaster at £5.99 seems a standout but nothing absolutely screams bargain at me.

Of course, no free games either as seems the norm of Steam, yet again Epic store has you beat on sales Steam, heck I'd even say the GOG one probably has them beat. They needed to do something special with this one to take the spotlight off Epic but it's just like any other Steam sale of the last three years it seems....
always the same Steam Sales. Nothing that cant be bought cheaper elsewhere. At least everyone doesn't go nuts anymore
When was the last time a Steam sale was good - guessing it was when you could buy in $ ???
I remember the days when Steam sales used to go red hot within minutes these days it's meh

It's not like Valve set the prices and they don't need to throw their money at people to get sales. It's better that they don't else there'd be even less competition.
the game that I want is never on sale, guess by the time they do reduce it then no one will be playing it lol
Terrible Steam sale get the majority cheaper elsewhere and to add further salt to the wounds with the no tokens for wallet purchases

they set there own mark up right .... or do publishers do that too
I have no doubt I will buy loads of games that I will never play.
Hot
If you see something you like, check cd keys first, if it is offered then it will likely be cheaper.

You can buy using a VPN but I'd do some research first because for some (at least) you'll need to use a VPN to play too.

Not something I've done myself.
