I agree, we should always support good honest companies that look out for our best interests. Companies like EA for example.

Would be better pirating it, it's the same assets used for the 3rd time now :-o You always know a games crap when it drops in price like a stone. Same old same old..
I am a HUGE Wolfenstein fan and was really looking forward to this, but it was a massive let down. Boring environments - I was hoping you would be marauding around a Nazi-ruled US (as implied in the trailer) but there is barely any of that, plus the difficulty is ridiculously hard.

I bought it, played it over Christmas and loved it. It's like Doom but with Nazi's instead of zombies.

You'll be very disappointed in that regard

So an English person in the UK should pay £39 and another English person in a different country should pay £15 or was it £39?

Total nonsense. Those prices are set like that because it's what they think people in those markets are prepared to pay.

Well guess what. I'm in the £15 market. I'm not going to subsidise everyone else, I do enough of that via taxation.

Why on earth should we in the UK be expected to pay more than twice the price of everyone else in the world?

I suppose stuff just comes easier to us.

The markets are completely artificial and are total and utter rubbish.
I finished it on Sunday evening and it's one of the best games I ever played.
I've never played a shooter where I've given a shit about the story before.

They buy keys in cheaper regions and then re-sell them here. So the publisher makes less money than if you bought the key from a reputable seller.

You're not in the £15 market clearly, as no reputable site in this market is selling it for that price.

I'm not suggesting you pay £39 - no one has paid £39 for this game since it came out.

Products are priced depending on what people in different regions will spend. Someone in Eastern Europe where the average salary is £10k/year has less to spend on games than the average Brit.
Cheers poster.
I love this series, i had just finished playing the previous one.
Heat as it's cheap but I would wait for it to be cheaper as sadly it's not in the same class as the The New Order.

You are actually arguing in favour of price discrimination? They are selling global steam keys(germany being an exception due to game content contravening local laws).

I have never seen anything suggesting cdkeys sell stolen or illegally obtained keys. If they are purchasing the keys in an EU country I imagine it would be against EU regulations to region lock them in the EU.

That's not price discrimination. Yes, they are able to do this because of EU regulations. Given the huge discrepancies between salaries across the EU, this is silly. Nowhere do I say that CD Keys illegally obtain keys.

Glad I could clear that up for you.

I a huge Wolfenstein fan too and finished this last night. Granted some scenes are verging I’m too difficult over all I thought the game and story were outstanding. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Charging different consumers a different price for the same good based on geographical location is textbook 3rd degree direct price discrimination.

You imply cdkeys are not a reputable seller yet provide no evidence of them being held in ill repute. They provide a useful service for rational consumers.

Its not like game keys are growing on trees and cdkeys know where to pick them. They must have bought keys in bulk from publisher or wholeseller who got them from publisher anyways so money got to the distribiutor/developer in the end so I am not sure where the problem is here.
Its a greay game but doing the same level 50 times to get more enigma codes is utterly ridiculous. ( i will never look at new york penthouse level the sane again, if ever)
Anyone know the cheapest price for the Xbox One?
BARGE!!!

You're have no idea what price discrimination is, nor is it a bad thing. Just because it's called "price discrimination" doesn't make it wrong. It's a pillar of economics. You want to go to a Swiss McDonald's and see if they charge you £4 for an Extra Value Meal (hint: they won't).

CD Keys are banned from /r/GameDeals. They operate using a business model that I (and others) disagree with. I'm not sure why every time I mention this I'm met with a barrage of abuse and personal attacks. You need to learn that other opinions exist :).

Because the keys are bought in cheap locations and resold in more expensive locations, reducing overall profit margins. This obviously decreases the chances of the game getting ongoing support, sequels etc.
If publisher allocates certain number to a certain region and all keys are region free and bought in bulk by the key reseller I dont really see the problem here. What about regional pricing. Why russians for example are sold the same game three times cheaper than their European friends are buying it for. Example. Divinity 2. You can buy it from Russia for 10 pounds and it costs 29.99 in UK. Lol.

The implication of this is that cdkeys are not a reputable seller. My point was that this is unsubstantiated. There was no abuse or personal attack intended.

Cdkeys are a reputable seller they are not however an authorized reseller i.e they do not acquire keys directly from the publisher. They acquire retail keys legally from authorised retailers and then resell these keys. The publisher still receives revenue from the initial retail sales. Resellers such as cdkeys are unpopular with publishers as they inhibit the publishers ability to turn consumer surplus into producer surplus through price discrimination.

The New Order was great but I enjoyed the humour more in this one. And I found the Nazi American town to be quite spooky (if a little small).

Yet again, mentioning price discrimination as if it's a bad thing. You're just repeating the same things without learning. Bye bye.
