Besides having a slightly high clamping force (in my opinion) these are a great set of headphones. Highly recommended.

Are you using the DAC or just the standard input? I have the DAC version but also the regular USB in without and I find them both good but the DAC is better. The DAC adds 96khz rather than the usual 48khz.

This is PC via USB also. At the end of the day they're really good headphones but not Audiophile level stuff. Gaming flexibility wise they're fantastic.

Last option is try a different pc, if it sounds the same can only conclude either you have a busted headset or these headphones just aren't to your taste!

Hi, not sure what you mean DAC? (I have the Pro version not the one with Game DAC) The headset plugs into the USB chat dial mix and then that cable goes to the back of the motherboard (X570 Tomahawk) so pretty standard stuff.

This is what my control panel says. The configure button for some reason is greyed out and I can't select any higher than 16bit. Thanks

I've got the wireless version but the sound should be the same.
Have you got the steel series software installed? Maybe you need to adjust your balance settings.
    What exactly sounds worse?

It's just that sound quality doesn't sound as good as I expect. Paid £150 for these. My XM3 (Dolby atmos as well) sound much much better but the mic isn't usable when gaming. The audio is extremely distorted if playing something at low volume as well.
I had steelseries engine before but it didn't really do anything but I will download it again to see if it helps.

Yeah the standard Pro without the DAC basically, I bought a chat mix USB seperate if I take the headset to work so have used both.

Would definitely recommend installing Steelseries GG/Engine and making sure it's all up to date. All the settings can be handled in there and DTS should also be doable. Also I tend to turn Windows Spatial sound off too as it sounds crap to me so check whether you've got that on too.

Yeah that doesn't sound right. Have you tried a different USB port? Have you checked your sample rate is set correctly in windows audio devices?

Thanks! I will try a different PC. Fingers crossed. If you can check the audio format on your PC and see if it's higher than 16 bit, I will be grateful.

Personally I really like the Arctis design, I have a pair of Arctis Pro Wireless which were good while they lasted, unfortunately the left plastic earcup developed a crack near the headband metal joint. The wired ones have the same design so I'd be careful handling these.
