Cheaper at Argos on £29.99
£29.99 AT ARGOS
The Argos deal is for the Console edition.

This Amazon deal is for the standard edition, typically £74.99
Are they as good as the Hyper x which were 47 the other day?

Bit confused, Steelseries website says

‘What is the difference between the Arctis 3 and the Arctis 3 Console Edition?
The headsets are completely identical. The only difference is that the main Arctis 3 product includes the dual 3.5mm extension cable which is needed for some PCs, whereas the Console Edition does not.’

So £20 extra for the extension cable? Or is this a different version completely?

Ah great will probably go for 29 pair at argos. I wonder, how they compare to the Hyper x pair that were 47 the other day.

I'm also confused to be honest and have ordered both a set from Amazon and reserved a set from Argos.

The main point of confusion for me is whether the console edition supports the surround sound for Xbox One.

Not sure if even this is worth the £20, but I'd probably rather have the surround sound if I can.

Is there wireless headsets that work with both Xbox and PS4?

Not in the Arctis range I don't think, though I'm not sure about other brands, but I suspect there is some fundamental difference between the 2 consoles that makes it impractical to support both.

Know what you mean, been in a headphone research black hole for ages.

From what I’ve read, there a very few headphones sub £100 that off true surround sound support for Xbox, but enable ‘Windows sonic’ in Xbox settings for a better experience

Failing this, I found that when my A50s were away for repairs, a decent £30 headset and Dolby Atmos for Xbox does an impressive job in it's stead surround-sound-wise.

I'll be buying these Arctis' for my mate this Xmas, they look and review very promisingly.

Thanks for the clarification.

If I were to use the 'console' edition on my X1, what would be a good test to check that the surround sound element is working as intended?
I just picked up one from Argos at £29.99

Can you confirm that it is fully functional with an audio and mic splitter for PC?

I picked up a console edition from Argos just now and have a standard set from Amazon on the way.

Will do a comparison of the contents.

Some videos I've seen imply the cables supplied are propriety so a standard splitter may not do the job.

No problem, Amazon set arriving tomorrow, will update then 🏻
I bought these from Arbor for £29.99. amazing headset, clear sound for voice chat and in game sounds and very comfortable. Can be worn for a while for long gaming sessions. Highly recommended.

After comparing tonight, literally the only difference is the inclusion of the 3.5 dual cable with the standard set from Amazon.

This cable is a standard one and the only propriety connection is on the cable that connects directly to the headset itself.

I've tested on my X1 with the 'console' set from Argos and the virtual 7.1 seems to work well using test videos but I'm no audio expert.

I'll be keeping the Argos set and returning the one from Amazon.

Hope that's of some help to you.

I bought mine this week from Curry's. I priced match the Argos one (it was console) but they gave me the pc version for 30bucks absolute steal I would say

I'm pleased with them so far, potentially on the quiet side through a game controller, but that's probably good for my ears in the long run!
