I assume the only way these are connecting to a console is from controller to headset?

Does it not require a mix amp to get full potential? The controller (and apologies for not being overly technical) doesn't have the power to drive the sound fully to get the best out of the headset.
I've just bought an astro mixamp to accompany my HyperX cans
Best headset I've used in a long time. You have to play around with the settings to get it perfect. Not sure on console though. Heat.
I love mine. Mostly use on a PC at work so I don't have to swap wires or headsets between listening to music and skyping people, but I've also used them on the PS4 and Xbox. In all cases you just plug the dongle into a USB and off you go. You can install the Windows app to monkey around with the settings etc

Any power comes from the headset battery. It wasn't meant to ever have anything else added.
Had these as a replacement for some Siberia 650's. Although the sound was OK the 7.1 emulation didn't work on any of the games I tried, pretty much any game that uses the Windows audio settings to set the speakers.

It's wireless...
Nice find for a first deal
Anyone expecting quality sound, think again! These are fancy in terms of functionality but sound awful.

I sold mine and got a pair of Bose headphones paired up with a Blue Yeti mic, best decision I ever made bar deciding to always say "Yes dear" to the Mrs even when she's wrong.
How do these compare to the HyperX Cloud II?
If these are anything like the steel series I've used sound quality is out but band filtering. Mine had a no input tizz. This was. Not a fault widely accepted as normal for them. Unbelievable that it wasn't fixed. So irritating. Sent mine back and went back to G930s until I find one I like enough to spend this sort of money on.

Each to their own. Sure they’re not reference quality, but they’re a long way from awful! Very acceptable for listening to mp3s or streams especially after tweaking in the eqaliser
Got these and the G533, the logitech is miles better when it comes to sound, a lot more bassy which is to my liking. The build quality tho is impressive on these.
They’re good quality headphones that sound great IMO but be aware these are not wireless for Xbox
so i get free lag with these?
Not nearly as good as the steelseries 8 series.

I did the same, sold these and bought Bowers PX as they have aptx which is better for gaming. Use them everywhere, amazing headset
Buy decent stereo headphones instead

The Bowers PX are nearly 3 times the price of these though to be fair?
Nice deal but I went with the Hyer X cloud 2 as Xmas, didn't regret it.
