I missed out on this deal at Christmas. Been looking for a pair cheapest I have seen them for is £140.

Unfortunately its only the white ones, the black are still £159.99 at the minute.

Done lots of research and they seem a really good pair of wireless gaming headphones.

Apparently the mic quality on the 840 is shockingly bad.

Are these wireless for Xbox?
Black & White variants both £99.99 at Currys.co.uk & PCWorld.co.uk at present.

(Potential for Quidco [1%] or TopCashback [1%] incentive too)

Black model at Amazon (UK) is £159.99 at time of this comment (1:45am, 5 January 2018).
Picked up the Arctis 5 for my son on Amazon last week on offer at £65 for both colours. He absolutely loves them.

Currys haven't had any stock since I've been looking. (last week).

Update. Just checked again and white ones are back in stock at Currys but price has increased to £139.99

Glad I grabbed these from Amazon when I did.

I don't think so. Looks.like just pc and PS4. If it's for Xbox probably not worth it.

I know wires ain't cool any more and I know the outlay is a wee bit more than 200 quid or whatever the 840's cost but you're getting all the bass you want and so much more with a set of Beyer mmx 300's running off an Astro mixamp

The mic on the mmx 300's is second to none although a mute button wouldn't have gone a miss if one was to be hyper critical

Your probably right although I can't say as never used the mmx300 but for wired variants there are so many options available like hyperX which you could have 4+ of for the same price. I guess comes down to what you can afford / willing to pay. For this price though I would like the flexibility of the of wireless and reason I mention the 840 is because with the way mobiles are going with no 3.5mm jacks it's a multi use kinda thing One day I will stop procrastinating... hopefully soon hehe

The winning solution is to go for a separate pair of headphones and a modmic, for the same price as a headset you can get a much better quality pair of headphones and a mic. Sadly that isn't much of an option if you really don't want the wires. =/

I got the first generation 300's, had them for quite a few years now and still couldn't be any more impressed than I am. Of course the second gen did add more features when they came out last year, they have got a detachable cable and a mic mute button but reviews say audio wise they're not really any different to the originals.

They are so good I still got some quite literally brand new white A40's here that came with my white Xbox compatible Mixamp a couple of years ago I have never ever used. I should really have whacked them on eBay in that £1 final fee promo I sold my other couple of Xbones in before Christmas but it's too late now

Saying about multi use I can't be doing with ropey buds but would never use what are clearly chunky home cans for outdoors, got some Senny Momentum's for the mobile/pod/tablet sounds on the go. I must admit whenever I see someone walking about or on public transport sporting them big huge over ear cans I find myself getting this nigh on uncontrollable urge to tear them off their nut I just don't think it's a good luck, not to mention they are totally impractical for that use.

I have read stuff about this issue somewhere but not come across it myself seeing I'm 100% dinosaur wired, I think banging the mic too hard like from a drop can cause that though but don't quote me on it
