I've had these for more than a year, use them for a mixture of pc/Xbox gaming and work....TBH I've never got on with them great.

A lot of repairing, turning on and off, faffing about. For a product with only two buttons, it's amazing the number of permutation of those two buttons you seem to need to use to keep them working.

Mine have been a constant pain since getting them. Random turning off has been the main issue with my Series X. Unpairing from my phone seems to have helped. There's never been a firmware update in the time I've had them, which is disappointing.

Decent sound but notorious for breaking where the cups rotate.

Been through 2 sets of these because they're that bad.

Do yourself a favour and save 10 quid by buying the official xbox ones. Better build quality and not much difference in sound quality. The mic is better on the official one too.

have to disagree. the x9 arctics are way better sound wise! like levels above once you get dolby atmos. the official ones are still good with a class design/build but sound not quite good enough

its a very nice headset especially if you want it for xbox and phone but if you want to use with more devices, pc, switch, ps5 etc then the 7x is actually the better set and can be had for £105 from SteelSeries direct. In terms of sound quality they are almost identical and they are both very comfortable.

They need to get rid of Micro USB

Guessing there is a refresh coming which is why these have been discounted

Bought these earlier today. Going back tomorrow. Fits well enough but when paired with Series X constantly disconnects. Very poor for the money.

Great headset, superb price and appears to be plenty of stock. I paid full price for these about 18mths ago and they're still serving me well. Heat!

How much were they full price?

    Looks like Amazon price matched.

Would you say this one is better or the 7x? Or are they the same? As I'm not sure what the differences are. Also I have the ps5 arctis 7p and what are the difference between them? Or is the quality and audio the same? Other than one being ps5 and other xbox

The 7x uses a dongle. There’s a switch on the dongle that switches between two modes to allow it to work with XB/PC/PS5 and Switch.
The 9x connects directly to the XB, in a similar way to XB controllers.
I believe audio quality is similar between 7p/7x/9x.

Unbelievably comfortable, these, which is the most important thing for me.

I tried some Turtle Beach and official Xbox Ones that were much less comfortable.
The TB had clamping force that I thought was going to squeeze my brain out my ears, and the official Xbox ones were great, but the comfort of the these Steelseries ones just blew them away.

They sync with the Xbox just like a controller would, no dongle or anything, and they have Bluetooth to use with your phone (at the same time) or something else like a PC or a Steamdeck. (edited)

This. You can wear them for hours and hours and they don't get uncomfortable. People question the durability, but I'm old and don't abuse my stuff, Ive had them since the start of covid, no issues

Is this like the xbox headset where it turns on the xbox automatically? Really don't like that feature.
    R4YYYJ's avatar
No. These are perfect for XBox

    Works with pc?

Via Bluetooth but I was told by people in discord the mic sounded terrible. Didn't have any complaints on xbox though
