OK guys so since we've moved house, Ive been looking for a for a mid sleeper for my son (we're doing his bedroom for Christmas) and loved this one, however wasn't prepared to pay nearly £500 for it from a shop in Stockton so decided to look for an alternative.....

At first I came across the tic tac toe mid sleeper from Asda @ £300 (now £230) which I thought was a great price and looked exactly the same.... but then to come across the Steens at this price.... woooow just had to share and you also get 25% off a mattress if bought the same time as the bed.

Needless to say I've got this on order :-) didn't dare hold off any longer as I'd kick myself if I missed it at this price.

Good quality bed. My son had the pine one around 2-3 months ago.
I got mine off cleverclickers ebay shop. £80 plus £20 p&p. Brand new delivered for £100 :-)

pages.ebay.com/lin…289
Its £90 with best offer option.
Make an Offer of £80 it will be accepted as my offer was.

I might sound silly but can one enlighten me what is the point of Mid Sleeper??

Thanks

Utilises the space underneath

Hi Tomekh, my son wants a football bedroom, so the way we have designed his room his toys can go at the back and were using the front as a goal, Ive ran up the tent curtains with net to make it look like a goal :-) cant wait to see his face.

Will do :-)

The full height of this is three foot seven inches tall. So the space under the actual bed can't be more than two feet / sixty centimetres tall! Not really much use other than for lining some stuff along as the OP will do. Also, it's MDF, so anything more than this price would be too much. Almost £200 and no mattress either. I just hope people arent ordering this thinking their kids older than about four will be able to sit at a desk under it.

ooh you should post that one, less than half the price of this one, real wood and it's slightly taller too.

£100 more and not the same type of bed as the OP posted (so not making comparisons!) but Ikea have a decent design incorporating a desk.

Mid sleepers usually have pull out desks.... its the high sleepers with the desks, wardrobes etc underneath.

Perfect for what we want.... and great price considering a company tried to charge us £500 for the same thing. Plus with the Steens you can add to it later I.e. make it into bunk beds or add another bit and make it into a high sleeper, so hopefully we'll get a long time out of it. Also can be made into a normal bed. Its a great all rounder from others out there on the market and very sturdy, compared to the vast amount of wobbly ones out there. :-)

sorry, not density. play den.

My six year old daughter has this bed - with the pull-out desk that slides underneath as well. It's very sturdy and heavy; a bit of faff putting it together but it is well-made.

As for the point of a mid-sleeper; well it adds space. The area under the bed can hold a lot of toys or can act as a den. And to be honest, I think kids just like sleeping in something higher up like that. It's fun.

Because a shop tried to rip you off for £500, doesn't mean getting it cheaper makes it a deal, just makes that shop expensive.
I didn't realise that you can add to it, remove bits etc, that makes it slightly more worth it as it can then grow with the child.

My son has this bed, it's very sturdy and more than enough room underneath to put his toy box etc. He plays for hours in there (he's five) It's true it's a pain to put together but I'm really happy with it and will be buying another when my daughter is old enough
enough. I bought from Clever Clicker with no problems whatsoever.

Bed arrived today, nice and early.... the bed is fantasic quality, very sturdy and the mattress is really comfy, ideal first big boy bed for my little man, hes going to love it.

We picked out various storage shelves, units and drawers which complement this perfectly and maximise the space in his room. 10/10
