Evaluation electronics kit at a bargain price, great for electronic experimentation. Free shipping to UK, you'll possibly pay import duty+tax+handling on the $150 ticket (which I guess might be £18+£8 handling), or it will be sent duty free (as it only cost $25).

Use coupon-code: 2JLP-R4XRT3 when ordering the little rover to get this price and be patient as the website is as slow as hell.

"What you’ll get is a Stellaris ARM Cortex-M3 microcontroller on a board with a bunch of goodies.

* MicroSD slot
* USB host and device connectors
* I2C audio with speakers
* Ethernet connector
* 96×6 OLED display
* Motors
* Optosensors
* Bump detectors
"

This includes shipping to the UK (i.e. free!), but not Customs+VAT+RM Handling as mentioned above (which would still be a saving of 40%)

I don't believe it comes with the µC/OS-III book.

Looks like using .Net Micro Framework might be an option but I doubt its free.

Be warned that you might get the error;
“Your activity has been detected as a Bot or Spider by our system. If you believe you are seeing this message in error you can Retry the checkout after one minute.”

In which case abort the checkout and go back to the basket and try checkout again.The problem is down to the very high load the the web server.

Update: TI webserver is suffering (looks like there have been over 1000 orders in 12hours) so keep trying!

Is this supposed to be a joke?

Looks like its back to full price ($149) now

Code worked for me, worth a punt @ $25. Thanks. Heat added.

You did what I did!
You need to add it to your cart, then struggle through the system, until it lets you use
the voucher - that takes 125 off.

Took a while to do - lots of reloads of pages - but my order is processing.

Worth a punt but I'm not that hopeful.
Thanks OP

I managed to place my order on the 4th attempt, the other 3 gave me bot warnings and then seemed to allow me to continue but without the $125 voucher, so I just went back to the basket and restarted the process.
I was order #5677 by the way.

Thanks for the voucher code - missed it first time.
Have attempted to order a couple of times - accepts the CC details then either comes back to same screen or asks for card details again - VERY slow/problematic site - will check that nothing has yet been billed before I try again.

Is the voucher code only good for this or do you think it will work for other things.
NB not holding my breath - am stil waiting for the evaluation board ordered in August !!

does it transform into anything cool?

apparantly the code is for $125USD off an order, so you could use it for launchpads and other things. but it was too much greif for me to try and order something else

Hope this helps people:

This is the link (you might need to register first) for the sample code of the $90USD book for this kit

Bargain!

But looks to me like if you want to use it as a robot you would need to buy the wierless stuff separately - can use without but meaning it would need to be tethered to the PC via USB?

But for messing about with it looks great .

damn, code now expired, would have happily bought one.

Not all the time Flibble. I think you would write the code, plug it in, upload code, and then unplug again.

As above. Code has now expired. Darn, that might have been fun... Also they have the worst web-site ever. Even if it isn't aimed at consumers, even compared to business buyers web-sites it is bad.

“The coupon code you've entered has expired.”

thanks

didnt work when ordering damn...

and why do I need this exactly?

Every home should have one.

gutted - wanted to buy this for DH for christmas ah well

Ive really got no idea what this really is, or what it does, or whether I want it...........

Would have loved this doh

Don't worry. I don't think it has the AMD iLove U Back Core installed so it wouldn't be true love, more the sort of love a man can have with a fleshlight.

it's an evaluation robotics kit, primarily designed for university students to learn robotics and rtos programming.

if you don't know, then it's not for you

i received a confirmation email, but has anyone received a second email giving an eta?

Their comment is now:

Please note: ESC Boston attendees received a special coupon for a highly discounted EVALBOT. We’ve had to temporarily discontinue use of the coupon code - in your order, use of the code will result in a “this coupon is expired” response. Full price orders are still available. We expect to re-enable use of the ESC Boston coupon code by October 11th, and the coupon code expiration date will be extended by the amount of time that we had to discontinue its use. When re-enabled, the code will be accepted only for ESC Boston attendees and orders will be validated against the ESC Boston attendee list.

Currently, they expect to honour these orders, however I have only received the confirmation email and nothing else since.

It arrived and there was no Customs fee or RM handling charge to pay (as they listed the price we paid i.e. $25).
Amazing.

jazid: what was your order number roughly? Mine is still processing and it is the low 6200's mine might arrive next year!

It was in the 5600's if I remember correctly.

Wow! I just got an email saying this has been shipped.
I'd forgotten about it.
