Stephen Hawking has dazzled readers worldwide with a string of bestsellers exploring the mysteries of the universe. Now, for the first time, the most brilliant cosmologist of our age turns his gaze inwards for a revealing look at his own life and intellectual evolution.

My Brief History recounts Stephen Hawking’s improbable journey, from his post-war London boyhood to his years of international acclaim and celebrity.

Hawking opens up about the challenges that confronted him following his diagnosis of motor neurone disease aged twenty-one. Tracing his development as a thinker, he explains how the prospect of an early death urged him onwards through numerous intellectual breakthroughs, and talks about the genesis of his masterpiece.

Read by Matthew Brenher.

At least they waited a couple of days this time!
Read by Matthew Brenher.

So disappointing, if it was read by Mr Hawking himself, I would have ordered.
The best comment I ever read about one of Hawking's works was "...he titled it, whimsically, 'Information preservation and weather forecasting for black holes'." Yep, his own comment.

He would have made a great weather forecaster, or psychic, or economist come to that.

If they say enough variations on a theme enough times they'll be right once in a while.

Assuming genuine question, the answer is no, I posted because I was looking for audio books for my wife at The Works, and this reduction caught my eye.

I remain perplexed. Yes, it's a *relevant* deal. I'm sure an audio-book of Margaret Thatcher would be less useful or interesting to people, even though she has also passed away.

I'll be honest, I take a spot of offence at, "The things people do for heat.." - I'd delete this outright if it were genuinely the case.
Update - this is now out-of-stock. This closes this thread down, and the dubious attitudes of some of our members.
Thankyou.

What a ridiculous comment. Ignore him OP. Apart from anything else, at 3 quid, this is far cheaper than it is anywhere else.
