Very scary film - voted hot. word of warning dont look down the drains

Wow. I love this film!! Good price, hot. Read the book in high school, pretty decent adaptation all things considered. At three hours long, you tend to ignore the bad 90 minutes and see it as a good standard length film. One of the few films that scares me a little bit. A young Seth Green (Robot Chicken, Austin Powers) and Elizabeth Perkins (Ginger Snaps - great film) star in it. Not sure why I'm spouting this off...

"BEEP BEEP Richie! They ALL float down here. When you're down here with us, you'll float too!"

This film used to scare the daylights out of me when I was young, but its kinda tame looking back now. You should watch some asian horror films, now they are what I consider to be scary (take the origional - "Ringu" or "Shutter", for example). I admit though, clowns do creep me a little..

I've seen dozens of asian horror films. Very few of them are that scary to be honest, and a bit too formulaic (small ghost child scares people until put to rest). The original Ringu has its moments, as does Tale Of Two Sisters. Didn't find any of the Ju-Ons scary though, nor cell, dark water, marebito etc. I rarely find any films scary nowadays - so hark back to childhood scares :-D Evil Dead, Candyman, Rosemary's Baby, Shining, Halloween, Suspiria, Spoorloos etc

French are currently producing some awesome slasher films - not so much scary as stomach churning. 'Inside' was far better than I expected. REC (spanish) is also worth a watch, though it was remade scene for scene as Quarantine.

Sorry, I'm a horror film addict and am probably rambling

Bah! Watch more films then

Decent price.

As usual with Stephen King, not as good as the book, but not too bad.

I think I heard somewhere this was being considered for a feature remake? Then again The Talisman was promised as a film over 20 years ago...

This is a good film, they did it as a mini series years ag but the scariest must be Salem's Lot with David Soul in it!!:-(

great film but the ending well thats just not as good part from that last bit this is a great film

I`m with you and after watching lots of J-horrors and K-horrors i`m now into other genres of asian films. Best films i have watched in ages are Death Note 1 and 2 ( live action ) and Hansel & Gretel ( Korean ) both brilliant films. Needless to say the Americans are to remake them ...groan.

Phantasm.
Ignore the lame sequels.

Agreed. Embarrassingly bad, acting is attrocious. Absolute nonsense.

Scariest film ever when I saw this as a kid.. wonder if it will still be as scary.. hope so.

No, this film is very very dated.
Loved it years ago but watched it last year and was disappointed. OK for a few quid though.

The film reminds me of writing stories at school. I'd come up with a great plot, I'd write a great beginning, decent middle, then get bored so I'd just finish it quick. Great build up, poor ending. Anyway, I think Mr Jelly from Psychoville is the nicest clown. Have look:

I can safely say that this is the biggest load of pants I've ever sat through!

No worries, I'm in love with my horrors too.. ;-). And yeah old schools horrors do have that special something about them. Where the film makers actually put originality and effort into their movies. But I definitely agree with you, in which they don't really scare like they used to (probably seen too many) or we're too old to find the majority of recent films scary at all.

Doesn't help with all the unnecessary Hollywood remakes of great films and butchers it, in the same watered down fashion. Figures.. though Drag me to Hell is definitely one of the best horror film I've seen in years. Gotta love Sam Raimi's work, especially the Evil Dead series.. they're funny, cheesy, disgusting and entertaining to watch at the same time.

As Ash so proudly proclaimed.. "This... is my BOOMstick!"
