Is this the value rebrand?
looks like it......company information is very sketchy and pages on internet are false..such as in 1924 this was the first brand marketed uned the Tesco logo - no such thing as Tesco in 1924 !!
Had this it's quite tasty, the tea bags are horrible tho' not tried rest of items

Yup Tesco Value came out the last recession 25 years ago and now is being culled, the story goes the bloke who started what became Tesco bought tea supplies from a Mr T.E Stockwell and TES Co was as a brand name in stock and planned as a future brand for a flagship store, thus Tesco are going to start rebranding ‘value’ Stockwell, no doubt it will end up:

Every Little Helps - since 1924.

Frankly Tesco has done so much public damage to itself and as a Corporate it’s hated, I’d rebrand the whole company Stockwells (and take it up a class rather than toy looking like ASDA stores) it’s a ‘family’ name not a corporate identity and well... Stock-well implies you’ll find more choice there, the marketing you could have with Stockwells would far outweigh Tisco these days.

“1924

The first own-brand product sold by Jack was Tesco Tea - before the company was called Tesco. The name comes from the initials of TE Stockwell, who was a partner in the firm of tea suppliers, and CO from Jack's surname.”

Yep it's to do with the fact that research shows customers are more likely to buy these type of items with fake brands on than they are to buy a product that states it's a value item. Stockwell & Co Teabags sound much better to customers than Tesco Everyday Value Teabags. All Tesco are doing is going down the same route as Aldi and Lidl who both know they can shift more products by using fake brands than they can plastering their own name all over the product.
