So. Many bad memories, so much bad experiences... Never again, looking at the price this may look like a deal but the product itself is utterly rubbish....
In 15 years of computing only ever used FREE anti virus and never had a problem. They all share the same database's whether FREE or not, so why pay.
Better off catching one of the argos deals for this plus office. I've done that a few times, and had unlimited devices (Vs 10).

Then just Chuck McAfee in the bin where it belongs and keep office. Lol

What do you recommend as the best free antivirus software? Thanks
McAfee is absolutely rubbish, the program not the person, the man himself is an absolute LEGEND.

For a Windows PC, I’ve used both free versions of Avast and AVG with Defender in the background. Also in conjunction with Adaware and Malwarebytes. Never any compatibility issues running any in parallel. Expect the odd pop up or email encouraging you to upgrade further, but they’re businesses after all. Just my personal experience of these products here by the way, didn’t cost me anything, others may have different opinions

Bitdefender
I have tried various antivirus progs over the years both free and paid for. Currently using paid for BitDefender with a multi family licence so we can use it on various desktops, notebooks, android tablets and phones. Not had any issues with it for the last year or two. Normally deals about so I have never paid full price. Free antivirus is okay but limited unless you upgrade or use other progs to cover things like having a firewall. I stopped using free because of all the nagging upgrade screens. I don't think McAfee is rated too highly by users. I did a search for reviews of all antivirus progs before picking BitDefender.
I have to agree... although it’s been years,I’d never use McAffee again.
