They are actually quite sturdy. You could snap the lid with your hands but it would take a good bit of force to do so. The flimsiest part is the holes on the lid, there is only a thin bit of plastic at the bottom of them which could be easily snapped off. If that happened, then it won't lock the lid onto the box. Well worth a quid to fill them up with junk & slide them under the bed out of sight.

My local one has been selling them for over a year on & off. Usually with a different colour each time. Thankfully I got the black with grey lids ages ago which look really nice.

They really are quite solid; I've bought a few over the last few months - they're very good value.

In my store they're usually black, but every now & then, some clear ones pop up for a while.

What's the rough dimensions on this please?
I'm trying to visualize 7 2litre bottles of coke

I just paid 2.50 for one the other day in sainsburys. That was very sturdy like. I break these containers without even trying, and i'm not even the incredible hulk.

Once you go Really Useful, you never go back

Look decent enough for the money, just wish there was a store near me so I could get a few, would come in handy in the workshop

another amazing poundland offer

The lids wont stay very secure but they are very good for £1 and protect stuff in my garage from rodents and a leaky roof. Bought four previously and have been waiting for local Poundland to get some more in.

You seem confused! Why comment when you don't know the product?

How wont they last two days? Hate to think what you would do with it!! oO

I have a few of these, great for stuff on shelves or storing things in the attic especially with the lid.

Note that they stack on top of the lid though, so any stacking boxes have to be fairly light to avoid breaking the slightly flimsy lids.

I got a couple of these last week.
For a quid they're definitely reasonably strong.
Went yesterday and they had that size, and a slightly deeper one but NO LIDS

I agree about their food containers tho (8pk Round ones) They used to be decent... but they recent ones are flimsy, nasty and the lids are a pig to get on or off. (Plus the tubs and lids don't stack/fit on the older tubs so for me they were useless.

MIght give these a go for packing up my house for moving.. damn site cheaper than poundstretcher which was 2 for £20 ( kids toy box but flimsy lids too )

Thanks for a great deal Simon!
But I agree with the quote besford made, really useful are good but they are so bloody expensive!!!

A capital one dear boy.

Nice one heat added.

No problem with strength. I have used one as a carrier for tools on the front of a quad bike for a couple of months and it is still like new.
Heated.

they do break under some force, I bought about 60 of them ages ago, I'd say about 10% have cracked now. Drop them and they will crack, and if you put more than about 3-4kg in them you may find they give out.

you can generally stack them about 6 high, depending on weight

That said - I'd buy more of the clear ones in a second, if I saw them in poundland. The 'really useful storage' boxes are 100x better but a lot more expensive.

You big perv so so are!! oO You will go blind you know..........

With the clear ones they make great propagators, place the lid upside down as the base and put your seed starters / small pots on that and use the box part as the cover.
