Nice deal for anyone looking to up thier game from D3000 series....I miss my nikon sometimes when it comes to option of buying cheap lenses. I used D5100 for over 6 years and it never let me down.

Nikon needs a rocket up their jacksy. How can they claim to be out of stock. Clearly if anyone has them, they will. They wonder why their market share is slipping. Won’t expire yet as maybe, someone will wake up this morning and add some stock.

It works both ways and depends what your doing. And for a lens to make a real difference in terms of its sharpness you need to spend really big and the lens will also be big. Its a different game mate. The only thing id say with cheap lens's is the aperture is seriously restrictive if your grabbing moving objects. the 70-300 is good for what it is, but the 18-55 kit lens arent great without a flash or in very good light. Plus the 70-300 is a fantastic lens anyway. Unless your a pro with endless pockets your not going to get better pictures at that range with pretty much anything.

Hgbnk_Bggj

Seems like a good deal, but for that lucre, wouldn't it be better to get a lower spec camera and better lenses? I think that is the prevailing opinion; invest in glass first and foremost.

Am I right in saying this works on top of retailer discounts too? Hoping to grab a D750 on black friday so this could really make for a good deal

lkl265

Unlikely. Normally cashback is only for UK stock. I am sure there is a list of authorised dealers on their web site

iggy.galatius

So does anyone know if this works with e-infinity? They’ve got the D500 at 949 and I’m tempted!

Oneday77

Tells a story when the max cash back in a body is the D750. Its nearly 4 years old now, the D760?? Must be due in the new year. Pity no deals on Z6/Z7 or D850. I’ll just need to wait.

davidh5555

Likewise, d5300 or d3500 depending on price.

That is the point though isn't it - it is a great deal for a very well made camera with two good lenses covering a decent range. It wouldn't be cheap if it wasn't the end of the line, but honestly it isn't aimed at professionals buying into a system, it is for hobbyists who will either stick with the 2 lenses or can expand with the existing range which will still be available...

I have a d3200 that I would love to upgrade to a d5500/7200 (if I had the £). Lens wise I had the 18-55 but it broke (dropped) so I got a great 18-105 from eBay. Would like the 50mm or the 35mm (reviews above are good!) but neither are on the cashback list are they?

Beano007

I got my 35mm at e-infinity online (also my camera) - Its presumably grey import as it was a lot cheaper - delivery was prompt though and from within the EU and I'm pretty sure there wasn't any problems when I registered for my camera warranty.

Can't blame Nikon....lots of fakes outthere on non-uk sites and on eBay and Amazon!

pasheast

Be aware of this condition: "Nikon UK Ltd cannot accept claims against products purchased from ebay (whether listed as new or used). Purchases from Amazon will only be accepted when made directly from amazon.co.uk and not from 3rd party sellers on Amazon Marketplace, whether fulfilled by Amazon or not. This promotion is not available on any second hand, refurbished/reconditioned or counterfeit stock (including “grey” or parallel traded stock)."

Look around for a SB400 which is also small, but seems to perform much better than this.

Taz1529

So overwhelmed with options with DSLR's. Everytime a deal comes up I'm ready to buy and then realise it really isn't like that. So can someone please suggest a decent setup which will last me atleast 5 years and won't limit what I want to do? I have a HS50EXR currently and just started toying with shutter speed and such. I take moon photos but want to get better quality pictures, but also a camera which allows me to capture for hours without the sensor getting too warm like the HS50 does (can't do any longer than 30 seconds). My budget can stretch, but as a student it's not really feasible to spend much more than well, £600 (£400 ish if I sell my HS50). I want a mid lens and a zoom lens ideally which can beat the 1000mm maximum my HS50 does. I also need 1080p recording etc The D5200 looked like the one, and then if that outgrows me too quickly I'll want the next one up. I know it is simple but it's not as simple as it should be buying camera bits :/

deleted361726

Why not a D5200? - I'd been interested in a D3100 for long enough, found the diffreence in cost between it and a D3200 wasn't that much and bought the 32 instead - not sorry I did (unfortunately before ths offer came out, so no cashback for me!)

3200 or 5100 ?! VERY similar specs, the 5100 has in-camera HDR and a flip-out screen, but the 3200 may be better for a beginner such as myself. How much difference does HDR make to photo outcomes, it certainly sounds good? Thanks.
