"The Intel Core i7-6700K averaged just 8.5% lower than the peak scores attained by the group leaders. This is an excellent result which ranks the Intel Core i7-6700K near the top of the comparison list."

Not bad for a "Feeble" Cpu..

Considering this is a gaming PC and the CPU will cope with any current games just fine, your point is moot and largely wrong anyway. This CPU at stock speed scores 10037 on Passmark with a single thread rating of 2159. A Ryzen 5 1600X scores 13227 with a lower single thread rating of 1972. So the single thread performance is still beating any current Ryzen chip including the 1800X and the monster Threadripper 1950X. So it's far from feeble. Yes the Ryzen CPUs comfortably beat it on multi thread performance, but my point stands it can cope with any current game coupled with this GPU and therefore does what is required of this build.

6700k is basically way faster than any Ryzen for gaming. It's also pretty much exactly the same performance clock for clock as a 7700k, the 7700k is just clocked higher. 12 modern games test average, CPU bound:

33275051-HS3ND.jpg

You can usually easy take a 6700k to 4.6GHz and it'll be the third/fourth fastest gaming CPU on a mainstream platform currently available when overclocking is factored. Behind an 8700K, 7700K and maybe an 8600k.

Nothing feeble about it, even if it is now over 2 years old!

Yeah I've been out of the PC game for a while, but I know that 1080's are like gold dust at the moment, so I think they fetch a lot more than £500+
Seems a good price for pre-built with warranty :-). I just wish the case was black and I would've bought it!!

Cheapest 1080 in Scan's store at the moment is around £650, so this is not bad. Bear in mind the 6700k is basically a 7700k without 4k streaming support on the iGPU, and some other small changes, it's not a 6 core 12 thread 8700k which would be your best Intel bet now though. I went Ryzen
I am unsure if the rest of the system is worth £650 now though, especially as the 6700k is still capable but quite dated now. Also they don't say what speed they ship it at (and 2400mhz DDR4 is really basic).

It's alright, a high-end 2015 pc really -- 3-year old 6th gen intel cpu and slow RAM. Only a few weeks to go until next gen Nvidia and Ryzen 2, worth waiting imho.

Not quite as the GTX 1080 wasn't released until May 27th 2016. It's more 2016 performance than it is 2015, as the i7-6700K was released in Q3 2015. I agree if you can wait then wait, although Ryzen 2 single thread performance is unlikely to be troubling Intel and possibly not even the CPU in this build.

You get 6 core CPU's now on the mainstream platform (I'd rather a new 6 core i5 than this older gen i7 quad core..).. If you're spending this kind of money you want a 6 core... Gaming PC's are now 6core+, anything less is either a budget build or trying to get of old stock that won't shift.
Side note: Perfectly fine cpu, but a big nono for gaming PC's unless on a budget - this is not a budget pc.

Jeez...could they find a more hideous case?

£30 case and £1.2k on components. I don't understand why loads of these prebuild companies use some terrible cheap looking gaming cases
I got something similar to this from Amazon warehouse last may when they had 20% off
Great value for money. Processor chews up all games I've thrown at it.
Weirdly even 9 months later I could probably break it down sell in parts and make my money back
thing is this IS obsolete. 1300quid for a PC with 4cores?
That really makes no sense at all.

I got a cyberpower luxe VR on ebay. 1080ti, 16gb ddr4 3200. 256gb SSD and a 7700k. Here's me thinking it was a gaming PC. Paid 1040, part picker and its 1600+. Damn... what a waste.

3-year old 6th gen intel cpu and slow RAM

Ram speed makes practically no difference.

All this flaff about not having a CPU powerful enough for gaming, I'm running a I7 4790K and it games perfectly @ 1440P paired with a 980TI. 1440P gaming will not be a problem on this PC.
Sold out...... that means I get to keep my cash for another day, thank you ebay

Yeah, I just sold my second hand 1080 for £560, which is mad considering I only paid £490 in the first place.

Crazy times for PC builders indeed, pre-built is the way to go as you will pay RRP
Never understood the bling case thing, who cares, I don't look at the case, I look at the monitor, save your cash boys and girls, these led clear case things are the pc equivalent of a 1.2 Corsa driving around the town centre at 2am e.g. crap. If you know the internals then that's all the matters.

M'oan the sleeper PC's!

It is plain to see that the Zoostorm-sales team from Ebay have jumped on here for the defensive play...

My points stands, £1300 for a i7-6700 is hilarious, you have got to be bonkers to spend this on a yester-year chipset.
Forget Ryzen(2) or other comparisons, the bottom line is that this is a "2015" CPU, some people are so easily duped
"ner, if you disagree with me you're just working for the company that sells it"

Brilliant. Internet comedy gold.

i7's are well known to hold their performance for years and years, 4790k's still match up fine with top GPUs. Do you assume because something isn't brand new that it's performance drops off? Or that the newest i7s are THAT much better?

On a sidenote I personally don't regard this as a super hot deal, I'm not going to be drawn into inflated ssd / gpu prices. £559 for my FTW 1080 on 01/06/2016, I'm fairly certain I could of built a more powerful rig back then for the price or atleast even with a better PSU / quieter / better case. Coming up on two years ago. Also not being drawn into retail windows 10 pricing etc when it can be had for very little, so that too isn't a valid argument for pricing. Don't throw warranty wording around, most components will have good warranty support and personally diagnosing and returning individual components will be more convenient for a lot of folk. Warranty's are one of the biggest money spinners going. If you're going to throw the "man hours, time to build" into the equation then by all means, perhaps this is of some value to those who can only deal with pre-built.

Novatech really shouldn't be advertising at that price. No stock and when/if it comes back in they'll ramp the price.

I bought a 1080ti for £770 a couple of weeks ago and I've been offered an extra £100 to part with it already. I've never seen a market like it.

Since this has been pointed out, I feel it's also fair to mention that the advantage diminishes as the resolution increases, and it will begin to trail behind 6 and 8 core CPUs as future games are designed with more cores in mind. But it's certainly a great choice if you're going to game at 1280x720.

Useless graph because anyone with this spec system wouldn't be playing at 720p. Ryzen CPUs are more equal a sometimes pull ahead at quad hd and 4k.
Ricky3029 h, 42 m ago

Ram speed makes practically no difference.[Video]

Depends what CPU a few sites have found big gains for the Ryzen CPU's with 3000ghz over 2400 as the CCX infinity fabric is clocked at ram speeds.
