Stress Control - Free nationwide weekly wellbeing CBT sessions (used by NHS/HSE)

This could be of use to someone who is maybe on a waiting list for counselling, or just needs some guidance on how to reduce stress in their lives.

It’s a slideshow-based class, with workbooks and guided meditation CDs/mp3 links to teach coping mechanisms for breaking down patterns of stress.

If you search for ‘Stress Control Jim White’ and then your area then you can see if there’s a group local to you.

Some classes run during the day, some in evenings. Most are 90mins with a break in the middle.

It’s anonymous, and no-one is required to talk about personal issues.

Click the link for more info, hope this helps. I’m not a medical professional so for any further advice contact your GP.

ive been on a waiting list just to see a mental health specialist for 17 months now.

Prisoners get 1-1 access to counsellors on a weekly basis.

This country has its priorities messed up.

That's progressive politics for you. The rubbish are always first in the queue.

This one should be in the 🔥🦌thread
Heat ! There is a 9 month wait list in our area for individual CBT sessions, that's a dangerous amount of time in certain circumstances and hopefully this push for mental health awareness will introduce more of these seminars/sessions as I don't find the free online material particularly great unless anyone can recommend any websites/slideshows?
"The training will incur a separate cost. Licensing and contract length will be determined by mutual agreement. The cost will be dependent on, e.g. size of the organisation and length of the contract and will, normally, be paid on a monthly or three-monthly basis. Additional services, e.g. email contact, follow-up training, are available at extra cost."

Where are the free sessions ? There is no 'search' on the site, or are you saying google it and hope for the best ? Not knocking as I think it could be of use to workers and managers of those workers alike if your org doesnt do such a thing.

Looks verg stressful
Anyone think Westworld?
Isn't this a training course rather than guidance/counselling session.
This can't be the CBT i'm thinking of.... That would probably get the heart racing a bit.
The link to the site just gives an overview. If you want to find sessions in your area you’ll need to search online. I think if you’re looking to lead a course, or rollout training for staff then you can contact them through the site

OK I'll bite. That's _life_ for you. The squeaky wheel gets the grease and you can't get much more 'squeaky' in a mental health context than committing crimes and being imprisoned for them.

Not only that but it's quite likely that this mental health expenditure can be justified in financial terms - as it should reduce future, expensive, criminal activity.

And it isn't the progressives cutting budgets to the bone in this country....

Yet our prisons are bulging. With people who can choose their own carpeting for their cells (fact).

And budgets have been cut to the bone in this country because, after 13 years, the progressives left a note saying 'Sorry, no money left. Good luck.'

No they don't, you have no idea what you're talking about. Stop reading the Daily Mail. The prisons are in tatters, why don't you go and see for yourself, you can enjoy lots of 1:1 sessions, they just won't be with a counsellor.

Hello buddy. I have done a few youtube videos (same username) kind of documenting when i was suffering from anxiety and panic attacks as i was also on a waiting list when i was so desperate to see somebody due to the weird suicidal thoughts etc. When i rang up the counselling service i was told "sorry we can't help you because our computers are being slow today" after that it took about another 2 months at least before anything was arranged which i think is not good enough at all because if you've never had anxiety/panic attacks then you really don't know how bad they are. I was in a very desperate place and that's why i started creating a few videos just to see if they could help anyone at all going through the same as i did as i preferred to watch people talk rather than trying to read something because my mind just wouldn't process it at all.
Sorry it sounds like an advertising plug and it's not meant to be but i know that i really needed to talk to people about it when i was seriously at my worst.
