Student Fresher's Fairs around UK, walk in no need to be student, get lots of freebies

I've been going to various cities to freshers/welcome week fairs for years. You always walk in there is never anyone asking to see student I.D. There are often beer bottles, toilet rolls, posh barbecue sauces,t shirts, soft drinks, energy drinks, Dominos pizza all being handed out for free often in large quantities. Also vouchers, which many people drop on floor/leave on tables, for the next few weeks or months for free drinks at all kinds of independant and chain bars and restaurants, cafes for completely free food and drinks. Wetherspoons booklets full of vouchers to use anywhere in UK until November.

Can be a bit hard to discover when and where exactly these events are held, but will all be between now and early October.

in Manchester both universities hand out dominos pizza hot and freshly made. at the academy on oxford rd for Manchester University, there are tables with literally hundreds of large pizzas being brought in all day. you can go back whenever you like. the vouchers they give out have vouchers for free pizzas at future dates.

Example in link is MMU in Manchester, 21-22 September.

All those desperate girls as well

Perv's paradise, I suppose. They should step up security.

Depends, some you get just a plastic carrier bag with lots of useless brochures inside. One that I went to, best was a booklet of Wetherspoons vouchers. That's it. As for pizza vouchers just a smidgen cheaper. Not worth it, I would say for the effort , unless you relive some memories.

Yes perhaps these universitys should step up security

Yep, employ graduates as security guards for students so that this country just keep an eye on east other, employ others in GCHQ, MI5, so they don't need to make anything, just do services for each other; while immigrants do all the work picking cabbages, to packing meat and do the bricklaying and plumbing.

A lot of the universities, from experience, will ask to see some sort of student ID before you go into the main hall where the fair is being held. That said, if they no longer do this then that's great. I remember getting about 30 free bags of Haribo and just pigging out in my flat.

splender

I wonder how many have enrolled for a degree in English.

And too posh to wash.

Not a good post. The Freshers Fayres are for freshers/new students. Universities do operate security and crowd control e.g. arm band systems for timed entry.
